Chapter 2

Anika ran to her house as she was sobbing her eyes out all the way to there.

Her neck has the filthy nail prints ,her hair messy and filled with sand grain, her dupatta was missing and her dress is wet from the wet sand and she feels the sand gains all over her body , but that was not the worst thing she have on her from this unfortunate night , the worst was that she still feel his teeth that chewed on her hair, She still remember his breath smell that filled with liquor as he sniffed her neck, his animal touch that held on her as if she is his prey ...what could have happened next ?

She wiped her tears with the back of her hand and ran as fast as she can towards her house .

Yes, her steps were fast but not faster than her heart beats that just wanted a kind heart but apparently this was too much to ask... kindness wasn't an option in Anika's life and she knows that suffering is yet to come ..!

but as she running thinking of how cruel this night was, she remembered the only ray of light she met by coincidence, the closest thing to kindness she felt in years. And it was the young man with the blue eyes and black hair who saved her and probably put himself in trouble.

She stopped in her place and looked behind her as if she expecting to see him and she wondered if he is going to be okay ?she really hope he will.

she continued her way till she reached to her small house at the end of the village that she is sharing with her bhai (elder brother) and her Bhabhi( elder brother 's wife) and she saw her Bhabhi standing on the entry with anger on her face on how late the time is !! Anika took a deep breath and then went towards the door and the minute her Bhabhi saw her she said ..

Bhabhi: ANIKA , LOOK WHAT IS THE TIME NOW...

but she stopped seeing Anika appearance, as Anika swallowed and looked at her with wide eyes then touched her messy hair and entered through the door but the minute she passed by her she grabbed her by her hair and Anika gasped in shock but a tight slap was enough to shut her up. She fell on the floor and closed her eyes hard trying to get used on the pain that wasn't really new to her and she said in low tone ..

Anika: Bhabhi... I did nothing wrong I swear...you don't understand (then she took a deep breath and said) just let me explain to you what happened before telling bhai , he won't understand!!

Bhabhi: what to understand ? That you finally were able to filth your brother's honor? Why you look like that ha? Is it that bastard Surya?

Anika shook her head as her Bhabhi screamed in anger..

Bhabhi :Rudra ,WAKE UP …COME AND SEE YOUR DEAR SISTER , COME SEE WHAT SHE DID TO US..RUDRA

Rudra came running out of his room still a bit sleepy but seeing Anika who was still sitting on the floor looking down with wide eyes , he froze in his place and said shocked

Rudra : Anika ?

Bhabhi : she came like that from outside and in this hour after she met Surya behind your back, what will the village say about you? How can we raise our heads in front of Surya's family after what she did with him, that of course if he still wants to marry her.

Anika shook her head and said : bhai ..Listen to me for once ..It’s not..

Rudra in scary tone: shut up

And he grabbed her from her arm harshly and pulled her up and looked at her from tip to toes then pulled her hair in iron grip as she whimpered in pain looking at his eyes that matched hers, not surprised from his action

Pain was nothing new for her since her parents died when she was 12 and her brother married this woman and her torture was the only thing they both agreed on ..Yet when he beats her or become harsh on her she can't help but look to his eyes and search for the kindness and love he once had for her but lost.

He took her from her thoughts by slapping her twice and she fall on the floor and was only supported by his grip on her arm that he raised her by again and looked at her teary eyes then wiped the drop of blood that came from between her lips and she just closed her eyes.

Rudra in scary tone: listen, Anika if Surya didn't marry you I will give you to even a stray dog... I don't care ... but these I won't allow... now go to your room and I will spare you from the punishment.

Anika looked at his eyes as tears flow on her cheeks and said in low tone...

Anika: spare me, bhai ? You didn't even listen to me ..You just believed her when I did nothing wrong ..(then she shook her head and said) but there is no use to talk because you stopped listening years ago

(he looked at her for a moment and his anger melted for this moment , and in this moment she noticed a sign of kindness that soon vanished and he said without looking to her eyes)

Rudra : go to your room now, Anika. Just go

Anika looked at him for a moment and couldn't hold her tears then she went to her room in a slowly dead steps and looked at herself in the mirror...touching her face or what she think it's her face...she can't recognize it any more from all the tears and bruises ...so she just throw herself on the bed and cried herself to sleep with hope that she will be saved by Surya soon from this pain, in hope that tomorrow will be better but that also was too much to ask...!!!

Next day in the morning ..

Shivaay was sitting in a small cell in the village's only police station, wondering what is happening to the village girl right now. He knows he is defiantly fired but it isn't important Anyway he was thinking to make a small business in Mumbai. He has some money and he is on his own, he can take the risk but he just hope that the village girl is fine.

(I have to leave this village... enough) he thought to himself as

the door of the cell opened and he heard a loud..!

(YOU ARE OUT) says the guard

Shivaay got out of the cell and in his way, Veer met him with his bruised eye and bleeding lip and held his arm harshly

Veer: I will never leave you in peace, Shivaay. Maybe my father made me take down the case so he won't ruin your future but you will pay for preferring the poor village girl over me and beat me for her and as for her I will take what I want by hook or crook...don't you worry about that !!!

Shivaay smiled and said: do whatever you want Veer...I don't care...I am fine with what I did...good luck in ruining my life because god is with me ..(Then he smirked and said sarcastically) my friend

Veer suddenly put a gun to his head as Shivaay just smiled and guards came running and got a hold over Veer

Veer: WHAT ? I WASN'T GOING TO DO A THING ...(then he said angrily )watch your back Shivaay

Shivaay: I am not scared of you, Veer...you are too cowered for to pull that trigger, you just said that yourself.

Veer roared in anger as Shivaay smiled and left, not looking behind him

AFTER AN HOUR..

Anika wake up in the morning and looked at her face in the mirror which was red and blue but she didn't care, she just climbed out of her room's window which was just so near to the ground knowing too well that her action will add more punishment to her. But she needed his help more than ever. She knocked on Surya's house only to find her future mother in law open the door.

Surya's mother : oh god ! Anika ? what happened to you?

Anika wiped the tear that came out of her eye with the question and said calmly

Anika: ma , is Surya here?

the woman nodded and said: yes....yes...SURYA...COME ...HERE...QUICKLY

Surya came running only to stop shocked seeing her condition as his mother entered back shaking her head in disagreement

Surya :oh god , Anika!!! What have you done to make them do this to you?

Anika told him all what happened but his reaction wasn't what she expected. He held her arm harshly and she said in shock .

Anika: Surya you are hurting me!!!!

Surya: HOW CAN YOU ALLOW SOMEONE TO MISBEHAVE WITH YOU LIKE THAT, ANIKA?

Anika: I had no choice.. I tried, I fought and I got saved. The boy was drunk and I was walking in my way. You know that , you left me to walk home alone and ..

Surya: so it is my fault now ? is that what you are saying ? (Then he shook his head and said) go home Anika...there is nothing to say to you

Anika's eye widens and said: what? No.. From all the people, you know I did nothing wrong after I left you, I was going home, and they saw me and...

Surya: WAIT...THERE WAS MORE THAN ONE?!!!

Anika : one saved me and never touched me... (Then she held his hand and said strictly) Surya I need you more than ever, my life is hell. You love me...you said that!!! Are you going to leave me for them?!!!! This ring on your finger is a promise. Don't forget that

Surya: and here is your promise , Anika

(And for her surprise he throws the ring on the ground)

Anika shocked: what? (Then she looked at him and said) as simple as that?

Surya: you gave up on me when you let him touch you like that and do this to you and god know what he did and you didn't tell me about.

Anika looked at him in disbelief and said : how can you blame me on this, Surya?

Surya: because you must did something to make him think of you like that...a boy will never misbehave with a girl unless she invited him for it.

Anika nodded and said: so the boy is not mistaken...it's my fault only ... (then she chuckled as tears flow on her cheeks) of course, you asked me to meet you and you let me go home alone at night for not to hear from my Bhabhi and he got drunk and try to misbehave with me but it's not your fault. It's mine only...because it's always the bird fault and the hunter is the innocent

and she ran from there grabbing the ring from the ground in her way as Surya looked at her going with an angry frown

While she felt fire in her heart but she couldn't figure out what this fire is !!

She again entered her room from the window and sobbed on her bed , why everyone is so cruel and trying to convince her that it was her fault ? How can life get any worse ?

(Knock ...knock)

Her Bhabhi entered the room smiling widely as Anika the second she saw her she sit straight and wiped her tears and said strictly ..

Anika: stay away from me .. bhai said I am not to be punished anymore. So don't come near me or I swear to god I will ….

Bhabhi: Anika? Darling, are you angry with your Bhabhi?

Anika looked at her surprised as her Bhabhi brought wet cotton and started healing her bruised cheek and Anika looked at her in disbelief

Anika: Bhabhi...what is going on?

Bhabhi: Anika!!!! Do I have to have a reason for treating my sister's wounds!!!!!

Anika unsure: I guess no

Bhabhi: Oh by the way, someone came today...he wants to marry you...he is really great, your brother agreed on him...(then she looked at her hand and said) what is in your hand?

Anika opened her hand showing the ring shocked from what her Bhabhi just said ...her marriage is now arranged!!!! With whom?!!! They even don't know that Surya left her!!!!What is happening to her ?...how can her life change like that...in few minutes in a dark night...!!!

Bhabhi happily: thank god...good he is out of your life...wait how you got the ring? Never mind ...come with me...he wants to see you so we have to fix your face.

Anika nodded and surrendered to her as she dressed her and put make up on her badly bruised face, making her suitable to the future groom .

As Anika thought of what is happening for a moment then decided that maybe the new groom is her only chance now.

Maybe that is the only way she can get out of this house and gain another more humane life not the one that is forced on her. Also she is kind of forced on this one too ..But anything will be better than what she living now

so she prepared herself emotionally and mentally for this meeting and entered the kitchen and prepared the juice then came towards the living room to meet the new groom and his family but the moment she entered and her eyes fall on the groom, the tray fall off her hand and looked at him shocked , it's the criminal , the sinner , the one who destroyed her life just sitting their smirking to her and his dark eyes saying with gloating

" You thought you ran village girl but I found you and I will get what I want now even if I have to take you a bride and there is nothing you can do "

Anika: IT'S HIM...ITS HIM..HOW YOU FOUND ME ?

Veer smiled evilly: is there is something wrong?(then he moved his lips with the word) Birdie

Rudra: no, she agrees the marriage will be as soon as possible

Anika: NO...NO...I DON'T

Bhabhi in low tone: he is rich, you stupid girl

Veer smiled and said: I guess you don't have a choice here, little girl ..I and your brother are deciding the date of the marriage now

Anika panicked : BHAI...NO...YOU CAN'T DO THIS TO ME...NOT HIM...PLEASE (then she put his hand on her neck and said) KILL ME BUT DO NOT GIVE ME TO HIM

Rudra: After what you did, you don't say a word.

Anika screamed: HE IS THE CRIMINAL NOT ME!! I DID NOTHING WRONG ...I AM YOUR SISTER...YOU SHOULD PROTECT ME FROM HIM (then she held his shoulder and shake him) LIKE IT OR NOT I AM YOUR SISTER...WE HAVE THE SAME EYES AND SAME BLOOD ..DON'T BETRAY ME...NOT LIKE THAT

Rudra slapped her and she screamed then looked at him with wide eyes as he said

Rudra: GO TO YOUR ROOM...YOUR ENGAGEMENT WITH MR. VEER WILL BE TOMORROW

Anika ran to her room and fall on her knees and sobbed her pain out...she was asking herself how her life can get worse?...she got her answer

(This your last chance Surya ...and my last chance too) she thought and again came out of her room through the window...running to him praying he has the slightest honor in his blood...!

(Knock...knock)

Surya's mother : GO AWAY ANIKA

Anika strictly: I want to talk to Surya and I am not moving from here until he comes

Surya: go away mother...yes Anika what you want?

Anika: there is no time for your anger Surya, I am forced to marry him...I am going to marry the criminal

Surya: WHAT? (Then he nodded and said angrily) so that is it ? You just met him and suddenly he want to marry you ? Or was he here all along and I am just the fool

Anika shocked: are you really that stupid or are you just trying to sooth your guilt by that (then she hit him in the shoulder and said) be a man for once , you bastard

Surya angrily: you won't be a wife of another. I will kill you before you can be with another man...you hear me , I am not the one who you can do that to him, Anika

Anika sarcastically laughed through her tears..

Anika: god...I feel I am such an idiot...how I thought I loved someone like you...I despise myself for even thinking I loved you...how did I loved you when I feel such hatred for you right now...I am sorry I ever said I love you...I hate you Surya ..I HATE YOU

Surya: Anika don't say something you will regret

Anika disgusted: love can be great after hatred Surya but hatred after love...then it wasn't love ...if you loved me you won't stab my heart like that...and if I loved you I won't even prefer death over seeing your face. You are even worse than him...at least he is an Animal and he knows that...but you are just sick , you disgust me

Surya: I WILL KILL YOU BOTH ANIKA.

Anika spit on him and ran from there but then she had to stop and started to vomit from her disgust .only to find where her legs took her, it was the same place where all this happened...where her life got destroyed

Anika collapsed on the wet sand and screamed her pain hoping after the scream she will wake up from this nightmare but no matter how hard she screamed this nightmare has no awaken

she is all alone in the world she knows that but didn't know that she is not alone in the place...a shocked blue eyes were looking at her...not believing how the innocent girl became like that and also not knowing why his legs took him to this place and in this specific moment .

He suddenly saw the girl stand and then run towards the ocean and He ran as fast as he can to stop her...he knows what she is planning to do , he can't allow that..!

Shivaay: WAIT ...STOP

However, Anika wasn't listening...she was ready to die ,it seemed her only way out, she wasn't thinking clearly , she just hoped that the ocean will swallow her and be kinder than the people around her but a strong hand held her and took her away from the water

Shivaay: ARE YOU CRAZY? WHAT ARE YOU THINKING ? ...WHAT HAPPENED FOR THAT ?

Anika looked down as tears flow on her cheeks and he left her hand and stopped screaming on her and that is when she looked to his worried blue eyes and she calmed the minute she saw them

she knew..

.It's him , her savior, he saved her again ..

Only this time from herself as Shivaay took a deep breath to calm himself then he noticed the bruises on her cheek and his eyes widen

Shivaay: oh god , what happened to you, who slapped you, MS ..

Anika faintly: Anika ...my name is Anika

Shivaay: I am Shivaay...Anika (then he shook his head and said) but I don't understand what happened , why you wanted to kill yourself, you understand that what happened with you wasn't your fault, right ?

Anika looked at him with shocked eyes then without thinking she throw herself in his arm and started to cry which took his breath away...he don't understand, but he felt suddenly that he care for this stranger... no she is not a stranger anymore ..She is Anika
