Chapter 58

2318 Words

I left Gideon’s room to mine and I freshened up. I felt upset. Even after I’d told Blake I was waiting for him, he still didn’t show up. I stayed in my room for another hour, doing nothing. Just seething, until a knock came on the door. I thought it was Gideon. Instinctively, I hurried to the door, pulling it open only to meet a different face. One I was quite happy to see. I threw my arms over Kael’s shoulder and hugged him tight. “You’re fine. You’re okay.” I whispered against his shoulder, filled with relief but I noticed he was still weak as he staggered from my forcefully hug. “Can I come in?” He asked, smiling at me and I quickly opened the door wider for him. “Seems I was late to the party.” My eyes scanned through his body, searching for injuries but I didn’t find any.
