Evelyn’s POV. I let the doctor check my eyes, shining a torch in each of them before she moved to checking my pulse. Kael was still holding my hand. He’d squealed like a little girl the moment I opened my eyes to this unfamiliar hospital room while Rosalie quickly hurried out, telling us she was going to inform Gideon. The two had been right next to me, seeming to have been reading a book to me. “Emerys, tell me she’s fine and she won’t go back to sleep.” Kael looked nervous, almost as if he expected a negative answer from Emerys. “We still need to monitor her for a few more days.” The doctor said, continuing to check my pulse. “Did something happen? Why do you look so afraid?” “Everything happened while you were unconscious, Evelyn. You must’ve offended someone really formidable.”
