“If anything happens to her… if she dies… I’ll rip your throat out myself!”
The pack’s head doctor shivered under my stare as I watched the nurses wheel Evelyn into an operating room.
“Alpha. I promise to do my best but—“
“Your best is not going to be enough… do everything to keep her alive because if you don’t, I’m going to make sure you all pay for it!”
I was shaking myself. My hands were still covered in Evelyn’s blood. My heart was beating frantically. Painfully. And my body was trembling from rage.
I needed an outlet or I was going to destroy myself. Still, I could not leave Evelyn.
Even as the doctor left and disappeared behind the door, I stayed there, waiting.
Blake and the Nightvale Alpha were right next to me but I couldn’t even register their presence.
