I stood between Draven and Liam, staring into the swirling darkness of the portal Evelyn had just summoned.
The air felt heavy with a strange energy that made my skin tingle. A cold feeling crept down my spine, but I pushed the fear away.
“Can we trust her?” Liam's voice was tight, his eyes sharp as he watched Evelyn disappear into the shadows ahead.
Draven's face grew tense, his jaw clenched. "We don’t have another option. If there's any truth to what she said, we have to go through with it. It's our best shot at finding out what she really wants."
I took a deep breath, trying to calm the nerves building up inside me. “Then let's go.”
Without another word, we moved forward, one after the other, and the darkness swallowed us completely.
