“Welcome back Ami.”
I hadn’t even fully opened my eyes, they felt sticky as if they had been glued together and I brought my hand up to rub at them. My arm was stiff but it didn’t hurt. Which was strange because when the explosion had happened I was thrown straight across my office , landing on my arm.
It had broken. I had felt the bone snap.
“You gave us quite the scare.”
Finally I looked at him. “You look like s**t Wren.”
He laughed , a proper head thrown back belly laugh that made his shoulders shake.
