Chapter 6 HazelThe lights were off when Hazel arrived at her apartment. She eased the door opened and grabbed the baseball bat she kept propped up next to the door. A quick inspection revealed that the apartment was, indeed, empty. She placed an empty suitcase next to the bed and tossed her favorite clothes into a pile. Then she tossed in the boring essentials like bras, panties and socks. A small bag filled with toiletries. Wherever she ended up, a new town or outer space, she’d still need a toothbrush.
