Chapter Thirty-One
Jill said goodbye to her Thursday six-o’clock regular. She opened the door to let him out and did a double take when she spotted Amelia in the waiting area. They were supposed to meet at the Pink Bean in half an hour. From there they’d walk to the Griffith-Porter gallery together.
“I’m here for an emergency session,” Amelia said, after Jill’s client was out of earshot. “I hope you can spare the time.” Her eyes sparkled with mischief.
“I’m supposed to meet someone in half an hour.” Jill was more than happy to play along.
Amelia rose and all but pushed Jill into her office. After she closed the door behind them, she studied it. “Does this have a lock?”
“What kind of emergency session did you have in mind?” Jill double-locked the door, not that anyone would be barging
