Chapter 4: At Greenfield Refinery

1176 Words
Cameron arrives at the pack estate, soon after he told his family's asset manager. It didn't take up to twenty minutes. Some of his family's staff had forgotten him because he was now grown, muscular and very charming although had been in a poor condition for years. His grandfather who is the most excited person to welcome him introduces him to everyone who had forgotten him. "I thought you were not going to come back?" He asks and Cameron widens his eyes in amazement. "Why wouldn't I come back, sir?" He always addresses his granddad by the fond version of sir. "I'm glad you returned, some don't after meeting with the freedom of having to live by themselves." This is why he is the most excited person in the house. It's the truth that some heirs and heiresses who were supposed to inherit their family's fortunes like these abscond, never returning back to home again especially those from disciplined families. These families have rules guiding them and those who are to inherit the family's assets must adhere strictly to these rules as a means of inculcating discipline in them which they would use in handling their prospective position. These young persons prefer to live a free life to being wealthy, it is becoming a random occurrence and the second-in-line gets to take everything without much stress. They sit down to a family meal before doing the necessary. During this period, Alpha Cameron, Galchev and Giovanni become inseparable as they plan for a successful handover where Cameron would take over as the Alpha of Greenfield Pack but most importantly, he will become the new CEO of Greenfield Refinery, the pack’s major revenue source which is being ruled by whichever Alpha comes on seat. From here, Cameron is taken by Giovanni to Greenfield Refinery. Being that he had his motorcycle with him and knowing who is, Giovanni accompanies him but drops a short distance to the Greenfield Refinery's base. Not too shy of being seen on a motorcycle, but Cameron said he didn't want anyone to know of his identity yet. Once they saw him with Giovanni, they would suspect. Giovanni was famous all through Georgia for being the asset manager of one of Georgia's richest as well as one of the world's richest. To avoid an early knowledge of who he is, he decides to arrive at Greenfield Refinery alone with Giovanni taking a different route. People didn't know him right from childhood as he was hidden both from the public and the media. He attempts to drive into the main entrance of the Greenfield Refinery's premises when he hears a voice stopping him right on his tracks. "Hey, hey, stop!" The voice is commanding, harsh and capable of making one incur a heart attack. He stops, only to turn and see a huge man walking up to him. Compared to his stature, he is shorter and less muscular. "Where do you think you are going with your despatch motorcycle?" He asks with a sarcastic tone, but keeping a stern face. "You're a despatch rider, weren't you informed of the despatch delivery unit?" Cameron remains speechless. At first, he is astonished at the disgraceful way this man was talking to him; he knows him from TV as Greenfield Refinery's manager, Andrea Lucas. Secondly, he doesn't want to speak before he ends up saying what he wouldn't want to say. He might end up revealing his identity. "I'm talking to you, will you answer me! Are you deaf and dumb? You better answer me before I call the security officials for you." It's at this point that Giovanni arrives. Hearing the loud barking of a man supposed to be the Greenfield Refinery's manager, he traces the voice to the direction it seems to be coming from. Here he meets his new boss and Alpha being harassed by the manager of the Greenfield Refinery. "Hey, why are you talking to Alpha Galchev with so much disrespect? Aren't you aware he is the new Alpha and CEO?" This statement shocks Andrea to the deepest part of his heart, his entire body shrieks in terror. His eyes widened in surprise. "Are you the… new Alpha, I mean Alpha Galchev's grandson. Sorry…. our CEO?" He stammers, not knowing what to say, and even if he can figure it out, doesn't know how to put it. It's Cameron's turn to deride him. He stares at him with a smirk on his lips, he looks like filth before him. At least, this is what he was hoping for, to be identified after being insulted. No time could be best for his identification other than this time. He had signed the pack handover document, thereby taking over as the new Alpha of Greenfield Pack. He, as well, signed both the documents for the transfer of ownership of the Greenfield Elite Hotel and Suites and Greenfield Refinery from his grandfather to him, so now he was the official Alpha and CEO. He sighs, shakes his head, then packs his motorcycle by the exterior of the gate, the side locking it so no passerby thief would steal it. Then he comes back to the pleading Andrea. "I have no time for you now, I know all about your details, your name and who you are in this Greenfield Refinery. When I have the time, I will come back for you." "I'm so sorry sir, I didn't know you are the new owner of this Greenfield Refinery." "That's why you always have to treat everyone well, you don't know who is who." Alpha Cameron gives a sinister smile while his tone seems to be forgiving. Andrea knows that some punishment is being prepared for him in his mind. He follows him pleading. This is the only job he has and wouldn't want to be sacked. He has gone so far with the Greenfield Refinery to be laid off from his work at this point. It would be most embarrassing not to be laid off out of the Greenfield Refinery's failure but over an insolent attitude towards the new owner. "If you follow me a step further, I wouldn't hesitate to call the security and have them arrest you!" Alpha Cameron stops to give him this serious order. Just one word is enough to send him to jail, Andrea realizes this. He has now taken his granddad's place among the world's richest. Not really that he would bribe the security to take him to jail but he would report an assault case to the authorities, after getting tried in court and found guilty, the next available place for him would be the prison. A place Andrea never dreams of. He steps back to avoid this. Then Cameron gives him a deep stare and sighs. "I know you were just doing your job, an obligatory one but you did it in the wrong way. You think I'd sack you? No, but I'll give you the right punishment you deserve." "Let's go!" He tells Giovanni. They walk away leaving Andrea behind.
