RAIN HAD FALLEN DURING my time in the store, and my feet splashed through puddles en route to the car. Street lighting reflected in every wet surface. The Porsche glistened, exposing its bright yellow individuality amongst the surrounding vehicles of greys and blues. Beth chaperoned, standing to the side and watching, while I piled my goods into the boot.
