Chapter 3

Rebecca lay in bed, looking up at the ceiling, as the previous night's events flashed before her eyes. The run, the breathtaking scenery, the conversation with Daniel, the run alongside him, and then Phoenix. She rose from her bed. He had escorted her the entire way home. While her mother, Leah, was in bed, her father, Ben, had been waiting for her. She sighed and groped for the clock while rubbing her face with her hand. A little after 7:00, it was. Even though it was a Sunday and the DIY store was closed, she hadn't slept in. She would spend Sundays at home cooking alongside her mother, unwinding, sometimes reading a book, and just unwinding before the upcoming week. Unless they left for s*x and never returned. Never were they silent. She had excellent hearing now, but that didn't help. It made it simpler than it was for her as a child to listen to her parents. She was forced to leave the house for several hours, or at least until she thought they were finished. She swiftly made her bed after emerging from the cover and entered the restroom. She couldn't dispute with her parents because they had insisted that she have her own had accidentally en suite. The restroom wasn't a hallowed space, and they had s*x there too. When she was twelve years old, she had accidentally walked in on them doing it there. She acknowledged her parents' affection for one another. Less than three months later, her room had a bathroom installed. The only sacrosanct, non-parent f*****g rooms were her bedroom and the bathroom. She had no doubt that everything would change as soon as she moved out. She flushed, washed her hands, and then picked up her toothbrush after using the restroom. Winced, she cast a quick glimpse in the mirror. After her first in-person contact with her partner, Rebecca developed the habit of avoiding her mirror. She despised looking at herself since she was unable to lose weight, which he thought unpleasant. She finished brushing her teeth, ran a comb through her hair, and then stepped outside. She yawned and stretched as she made her way downstairs before entering the kitchen. She commented, "Something smells delicious." She quickly realized that they weren't the only ones. This never took place. Sundays were a solemn day for her parents. It was family time and it was their time together. Even as she grew older, she was prohibited from working on Sundays. Rebecca regarded the man who had turned her down. Phoenix's parents appeared content as he sat at the kitchen counter holding a mug of coffee. Phoenix looked at her and replied, "Yes, there is something that smells delicious. She questioned, "What are you doing here?" Rebecca, don't talk to the alpha like that! Her mother, Leah, sounded furious. "Why don't you go change, sweetheart?" She wore an oversized shirt that was well-worn yet quite comfy and that she had owned for many years. She glared at Phoenix, refusing to let him see how terrified she was that he had seen her in this way. "Good," I say. She moved away from them, keeping a decent space as she made her way to the kitchen counter. She despised that at the sight of him, her n*****s had become hard. Mom, something smells delicious. This time, "Will you eat the bacon?" Leah queried. You don't consume bacon? Phoenix enquired. She gave him a stern look. What was his business there? Her mother began speaking before she could advise him to be quiet and mind his own business. She has been on a diet for a very long time. I am concerned that she is not eating enough. Leah grumbled. Rebecca was tempted to snarl. Diets are unhealthy, according to Phoenix. He had complete freedom to lie. "Thanks, Mom, I'll have some bacon." She stood up, turned around, and snatched a mug off the top shelf. "Honey, how was your run last night?" Ben justifiedjustly inquired. "It went well. I walked over to the cliff. Leah scowled. "I detest the idea of you leaning against that ledge. You are aware it is unsafe. I never dangle from the ledge. It's a lovely location with a lovely outlook. She didn't look at Phoenix while she sipped the steaming, black coffee. His attention was drawn to her. After giving her a short peek, she noticed that her flesh appeared to be heating up. He observed her. "I continue to dislike it. You explore the woods by yourself far too frequently. We're terrified to death of the trouble you might cause. I'm alright, Mom. I was not alone last night. I had Daniel with me. Leah groaned. That's great. Daniel behaves well. You know you haven't had... Mom, I've already told you that won't happen. I don't have a friend like Daniel. Phoenix's cup broke while he was still holding it. Rebecca sipped her beverage and peered at him over the edge. He provided the justification, "I don't know my strength. Already making a big deal out of him, her father was attempting to tidy up the mess. Leah remarked, reaching for another mug, "Let me grab you another one." It's so unfortunate. Since I can remember, you and Daniel have been buddies. I'm confident he'd make a good partner. He isn't mine, "I know, but you are aware that some people get married despite not being destined to be together." She laughed. "I'm aware of that, Mom, and when his partner appears, I'll be left in a precarious situation. You can be sure I don't want it. You often mention Daniel and his partner coming along, love, I know. How is your partner doing? Your friend could show up. I'm aware that it hasn't occurred yet. She resisted turning her gaze toward the alpha, her mate, who was seated in their kitchen. Rebecca stated, "I will never be mated. She got up from her seat at the counter and sat down. "I'm not sure why you seem to be suddenly "doomed on you." Mates appear out of the blue. Believe us. We know," Leah murmured, approaching her companion. Watching her parents was Rebecca. They cherished one another. That was never going to happen between her and Phoenix, even if they were content and happy together. Rebecca responded, changing the topic, "I've been considering moving out. Again, her parents became concerned. We don't need to talk about this, I've told you. I am aware, but you don't want me to spoil the fun you two could be having. She smiled at them. "I am aware that there are several new units. The florist Deanna informed me that the apartment above her business is a good one and reasonably priced. Actually, I think it's time for me to leave town, she remarked, interrupting her mother before she could start planning it. Go outside, explore, and perhaps learn something. That won't happen, said Phoenix. Rebecca paid him no mind. "What about the pack, honey? Your position?" Leah queried. She made a shrug. "I adore the group. You are aware of that, yet I John is terrific. The shop is fantastic, but I simply believe the time has come, and you may recall that we have previously discussed this. Some folks move on and look elsewhere for what they need. Phoenix declared, "This is not happening. "You're staying in this pack, buddy." She inhaled deeply before rising to her feet. "I want you to give it some thought. I'm confident that it will benefit me. After glancing at Phoenix, her parents turned to face her. He had also stood. "You are not permitted to direct my actions. not now. Never," she retorted, giving him a glare. She exited the kitchen and started down the hallway while spinning on her heel. Phoenix quickly seized her arm and attempted to stop her from departing when she had not gone very far. "Give me a break!" She was forced to mutter the request. Her parents would be suspicious if they heard. "You're not going out of town." "Do you recall what occurred a few years ago? To be accurate, five. You are not permitted to direct my actions. Never, not then, and never again. Hoping her parents were more preoccupied with their relationship than what was happening between her and the alpha, she peered over his shoulder. Rebecca, you will do what you are told, damn you. Make me! She retreated from his embrace. But if you recall what you said to me that evening, you don't even have the right to give me instructions. She gave him a quick glance before saying what he had said to her verbatim. "That's all you're getting, so you'd better have enjoyed it. Particularly not someone like you, I don't want a f*****g mate. You keep this between you. Do you hear me when I say that if you tell anyone, I'll f*****g kill you and your entire family? She gave him a glare. Do you still recall that? She had, for sure. Every day since then, she has been thinking about those same words. Phoenix couldn't recall his exact remarks to her. He had only been thinking about being mean to be kind. She hurried up the steps as he watched. She was wearing a nightshirt that was a touch too long and covered her a*s. Oh, dear. He ought to have abstained. Despite knowing this, he continued to butch his f*****g nose in inappropriate places. He was starting to feel like the wolf inside. I've been single for five years. lacking a satisfying hard f**k. He had been attending to his own wants, but now he desired her. He could blame his wolf, but the truth was that he was the one who desired her. Before he met her, he had never experienced loneliness. The days and nights were both quite lengthy. He imagined Rebecca Simpkin and, goddamnit, he missed her constantly. Leah and Ben were seated at the counter when he entered the kitchen. He was given a plate of food, but he couldn't find one for Rebecca, so he inquired. She won't eat anymore, Leah sighed. “She … I'm not sure what's wrong with her. Ben remarked, "She doesn't like being the big girl. "Some people do perceive her in that way. The large one Ben scowled. She'll always be my little girl, I promise. Rebecca is a stunning female. Her physical condition is amazing. Leah began to chop into the bacon. "I am aware of that. I cherished making food for her. She was a delight to feed as a child since she had a constant hunger. Prior to her transition. Phoenix put down his fork. The transition of her? The cutlery was placed on Leah's plate, and she then covered her face. Ben replied to his lady, "We don't know exactly what happened that night. He rubbed her back in an effort to make her feel better. The night was a big success, according to what her friends and even Daniel have told us. They were having fun. Ben, I heard her. I'm sure you also heard her. Who heard her? Phoenix enquired. He had already grown weary of hearing the name Daniel. He had such a tremendous want to crush him, but he was able to restrain himself. He could see why the child was so enamored of her. Rebecca was an absolute fantasy. Leah responded, "She returned. We were in the back garden when she got home, but we were listening. Ben remarked, "She sobbed herself to sleep." "Her face was red and puffy from all the tears the next morning." And all of a sudden, she has lost interest in my food. Even baking eludes me. So long has passed since I last baked something. Leah once more hid her face. She won't even get her favorite birthday treat, chocolate cake with chocolate fudge buttercream. She doesn't get anything I make for her. She doesn't consume any sugary or fatty foods. She always follows a tight diet. Shaking her head, Leah. Where as a parent did I fall short? She is stunning. I adore her because she is our daughter. What transpired that evening? Nobody knew. They kept it to themselves. Phoenix turned to face the entrance. He could hear Rebecca pacing upstairs. Her movements were fluid. Although her physical appearance hadn't altered much, he noted that her complexion was pale and that her eyes were sunken in. She was constantly worn out. He noticed it. And he understood the reason. She was depriving both her body and her wolf of food. All thanks to him. She had cried because of him. Leah cried out. Anyway, I'm really sorry. Rebecca is the only child we have. We adore her even though we haven't yet been blessed with a second child. For her, we only want what's best. She's been discussing leaving town for a while, Ben added. Although neither of us wants her to leave, she is unhappy in this place. "Is there any connection to the pack there?" Phoenix enquired. "Of course not not. She is adored by the pack. She also adores the group," Leah added. But we can see that she's unhappy. She started out changing jobs so frequently that none of us realized what was happening or what she was looking for.
