CHAPTER 15: I'LL KILL HER.

Immediately Sheila dropped Miles off at home, he got down quickly walking into his house.
" Sweetie you're home late" his mum spoke as she turned her eye to the clock beside her, she was awakened by the noise of the door
" Yes ma'am, why did you wait up for me?"
" How was the party? Was there any problem?." She asked standing up
" It was fine mom, I'm just tired"
" Don't you want to tell me about it?" She said following him into the kitchen.
" Mum, it's late can we talk tomorrow" he said in a sad tone
" Alright, baby I'll go in to sleep, just in case you're hungry I kept your food for you in the fridge. Try to warm it up before you eat" she said before walking up to him and giving him a hug with a peck on the forehead
" Goodnight, I love you
" I love you Mom"
Miles walked into the kitchen, he wasn't really hungry but he didn't know what exactly he wanted, he was just told that his father was going to sell him to a dangerous woman. Although it sounded so unreal, he knew his father was greedy but he couldn't believe that he would go to such an extent to save his own skin. He couldn't understand any reason why he would do that for crying out loud he was his son and not just his son, his only child. How could he sell his only child to some drug dealer out there just for his selfish gain.
He sat on a stool next to the kitchen counter pouring water into the cup in front of him, his concentration was far lost.
" Baby are you alright?" a voice called out immediately bringing him back to his senses, he looked at the water which was overflowing
" I'm sorry mum, I think I'm a bit tired"
" Then you should go to bed baby or is there something bothering you?"
" There's nothing bothering me mum, I'm fine. I just had a stressful day at work today. From the cafe to the party, everything was so hectic" he lied, his mom was one of the people he wanted to protect the most
" I came out to tell you something because I was beginning to get a bit worried"
" Why? what happened?"
" Somebody came looking for you a while ago"
" Somebody came looking for me? who?"
" I can’t remember her name? She said you left the party and they were worried, they wanted to know if you were home safely. That's was why I actually stayed up all night waiting for you to get back" she explained
** Who could it have been** Miles asked himself
" I had to go check out a new job somewhere and I didn't tell anyone when I was leaving the party and maybe that's why they were worried"
" Next time don't do that because, people would want you to always tell them where you're going to “
" okay mum"
" Baby are you sure there's nothing going on that I need to know, you know I'm here for you"
" I'm fine, you worry too much. I'm just tired" he said trying to convince her.
" if you say so I'll leave you, and please do not waste all the water in my house it's hard to pay the water bills right now" she said with a smile
" I know, goodnight"
" Goodnight again"
His mum was right he needed a good night sleep, if he was to face what is to come tomorrow but he decided to tell himself that none of what he heard today was true and he was going to prove Michael and Sheila wrong.
His Dad would never sell him to anybody for any reason. He gulped down the glass of water and walked to his room, he laid down on his bed looking straight to the ceiling before the winds of sleep came drifting him away.
The next morning Miles woke up from bed as usual, he was beginning to get use to waking up early and preparing for work, he sat on the bed with his eyes half opened and his memories flashing back to what had happened yesterday, there was a frown on his face but he decided to brush off the feeling knowing that whatever Michael and Sheila told him most definitely going to be wrong.
He walked into the kitchen as he prepared breakfast for his mum and dad with the knowledge of his mum will leave early for work as well.
" Baby, you shouldn't have prepared breakfast" his mother spoke as she walked into the kitchen
" Mum you still going to work, let me do this for you, it the least I can do, even though you don't want to listen to me about stopping your job" he said
" Alright, then let me go shower and you should do the same before your lazy father wakes up" she said with a smile before walking away
Miles quickly rounded up what he was doing in the kitchen before walking into the bathroom, he came out all dressed and ready to leave for work when is father called out to him, he could feel his heart sink as he stopped his tracks.
" I want you to help me sign these papers" he voiced out
" What papers are those?" Miles asked
" Well they're for the hospital, they required that you to sign them" he explained
" what papers should he sign?" his mother's voice could be heard from behind both men
" It's nothing important, it's just these papers for the hospital they require it for my treatment" he explained.
" Then why must it be Miles that has to signs it, I'm your wife, can't I sign the papers instead" she said staring at him, about to collect the papers from him
" Yes you're my wife but Miles is my next of kin, So he's the one that is authorized to sign the papers and not you" he replied handing the papers over to Miles.
" Pass me those papers, I want to actually see what they are about" his mum said not trusting his father. Miles took a deep breath, maybe it really just hospital papers.
" Okay, okay both of you calm down, I'll sign these papers so Dad can actually get the treatment he needs and mum why always suspicious about him? He's your husband"
" Exactly why? he's my husband and I know your father. Don't look at me like that Davis, I know you very well. We've been married for a long time and I know when I smell something fishy. if anything happens to my baby boy I swear you won't have lungs to break through" she threatened before turning towards Mile
" I love you baby, have a good day at work" she added, she kissed me on the forehead before taking her leave.
Miles tried his best to hold his tears from falling in front of his mother but immediately he got on the bus he couldn't control his tears as they overflowed.
He could not believe his father sold him out, while signing the papers he checked them slightly without his father's knowledge and read the heading it was a different thing entirely from what his father told him, the papers he signed was definitely not for the hospital.
Maybe he was being forced to do this, he thought to himself by that monster but how could she even force him after she took one of his eyes away from him he thought, he cleaned the tears from his eyes as the bus drove towards the cafe. He came down and stood in front of the big sign which read Beauty mix cafe, he took in a deep breath before pushing the doors of the cafe and as usual he could see Emily already cleaning the tables.
" OMG Miles you're alright, where were you last night" she asked rushing to him
" Good morning, about that I went somewhere important" he answered
" And you couldn't tell me? Even miss Kanaan was searching for you"
" She did?"
" Of course she was very worried"
" I'm sorry I wasn't thinking straight, plus the party was a little boring" he said forcing on a smile.
" Don't you ever scare anyone like that ever again".
After his conservation with Emily, he walked in to the locker room but still couldn't shake off the feeling of why his father did that. he dropped his bag about to change his clothes when he had a change of mind.
He stood up walking outside carefully before entering into the storage room without Emily's knowledge, he grabbed one of the cup and rushed back to the locker room, he smashed it open and just as Micheal said yesterday drugs were found.
He quickly picked his bag running out to the door ignoring Emily calls, he wasn't going to waste anytime he needed answers and he needed them from Kanaan herself but before he could get a cab, a car swerved in front of him honking to get his attention.
Miles looked at the driver of the car and could see Sheila
" What is wrong with you, are you dumb?" she asked as she opened the door moving towards him.
" What do you mean?"
" You need to calm down" she said
" Calm down? Do you know if she's forcing my dad to do things, he doesn't want" he yelled.
" we are on the road so get into the car" she said, pointing out to the fact that he was drawing attention to himself.
He curled his hands into a fist before opening the door of the car and finally sitting down.
" You almost ruined everything, what did you want to? go and shoot her in the head with your bare hands or confront her? remember she's a hot shot, the biggest fish in the country you can't just go in and tell her to hands up and give up all her money to you. you need to think Mile, that's the best thing you should do" she encouraged him.
" We need to come up with a good plan to bring her down"
" Whatever it is I'm in, I want to end her life" he said in anger and pain as Shelia drove.
