chapter two: property

Lillian: "I will sleep here..." she said defiantly, despite the fear running inside her. Jungkook’s chest shook with a low laugh, a low sound devoid of any real humor. His dark eyes wandered over her face, stopping their gaze on her rebellious jaw. Jungkook whispered in a faint, cold voice: "Oh, surely you will sleep here, but on your terms? Don’t be ridiculous." He slipped under the heavy silk covers; leaning against the headboard. The moonlight caught the lines of his sharp features as he waited. His previous anger seemed to have faded into something colder and more calculating. "The night is still in its beginning," he added with a smile that did not reach his eyes. "We might benefit from it." Lillian slipped under the covers beside him, feeling a little relieved. Lillian: "Benefit from me in what?" she asked in a low and confused voice. Jungkook moved slightly on the bed, closer to her, a small smile appearing at the corner of his mouth as he studied her confused expression. Jungkook: "Benefit?" his voice repeated in a lower and more intimate tone, "Is this what you call it now? My beauty, this is not a benefit.. it is just sleep." A sarcastic smile crossed his lips. He reached out his hand, tracing his fingers along the curve of her hip beneath the sheet. His touch was light but deliberate, sending a shiver through her body. Jungkook: "But mostly," he continued leaning closer until their faces were only inches apart. "It is beneficial for me to have someone who belongs to me entirely. Someone I can touch whenever I want." His hand moved upward, brushing over the soft skin of her stomach. "Someone who makes me forget meetings, deals, and deadlines.. Don't you agree with me, my little bird?" She looked at him with resentment and frustration. Lillian: "I didn't understand, Jungkook.. what do you mean?" Jungkook's expression softened slightly at her genuine confusion. He gave a short, real laugh and shook his head. Jungkook: "You really are innocent, aren't you?" he whispered, his fingers continuing their slow exploration of her side. "It's simple. I want you because you are beautiful. Because no one else can have you, and because you are mine." He raised his other hand to gently place a lock of hair behind her ear. This gesture was surprisingly tender for someone like him. Jungkook: "And because I like to have something for myself alone. Something pure and unaffected by the world I live in." He gently ran his thumb over her cheek; thoughts were already spinning in his head about breaking her innocence. "You are like a little doll I can protect in my dark world he said with a calculated smile. Lillian followed with surprise as she pulled herself a little further away from him. Lillian: "I am a doll? You mean I am property." Jungkook's hand remained on her cheek, and his expression shifted from playfulness to seriousness. Jungkook: "Yes," he said bluntly, his voice losing its seductive edge, he continued: "In every sense of the word. My property. My wife. Mine." He rolled onto his back, staring at the ceiling with a frustrated sigh. "This is how it works in my world, whether you like it or not. You are mine now—your safety, your loyalty, and your body..." His arm moved to wrap around her waist, pulling her to his side despite the silk covers between them. Her smaller frame fit easily into his muscular frame. Jungkook: "It's not just about ownership," he continued in a calmer tone. "It's about protection too. In this city, being associated with me is the only thing that stops people from using you for their own gain. Now go to sleep, my beautiful doll, I don’t want my little bird to wake up tired tomorrow."
