Michi’s mind was racing. To the best of her knowledge, no one in the Commonwealth had ever thought of such a thing. Its military implications were staggering—particularly when Earth faced the possibility of a space war against this alien race. This jammer, combined with the weapons from the Makers’ arsenals, could spell the difference in the whole war effort. That made it all the more imperative that she convince Birk to help her return home. She kept her thoughts to herself, however. She knew full well that now was not the time to mention such things. The wreck of the Thundercloud was coming up an the horizon, and Michi turned her full attention to that.
