JASPER
I watch as she inspects my apartment a little surprised she agreed to come at all. I know it'll impress her. It impresses everyone. She stops in the living room staring out the windows. "Beautiful right?"
"Yeah I couldn't imagine living with this view."
"You should see it at sunrise.." I say implying she'll be here early enough in the morning.
"How about the night cap?" she rolls her eyes and walks away towards the kitchen.
"Actually the wet bar is in my office." I node my head for her to follow me.
I pour cranberry juice I bought for her and her only into a glass follow by two shots of vodka. Adding a third shot to hopefully lower her inhibition's. Ah what the hell. I pour one for myself as well.
"Thanksssss." she says dragging out the 's'.
"Tell me about yourself." Girls love to talk about themselves. She would spill her life story, I would act interested and she would finally fall into place.
"Um I'm pretty boring. I work a lot and hang out with Tabitha. That's about it. What about you?"
"What about me?"
She giggles "Tell me about yourself, smart ass " She's feisty.
"I'll tell you something if you tell me something?" I find myself wanting to know more about this girl.
"I'm 24" she says with a smirk.
"No something real or exciting!" I say with an eye roll.
"Fiiiine. I have a degree is psychology. I'm basically a therapist.." sarcasm clear in her voice. "More like I want to be one."
"Just enjoy hearing other peoples problems?" I tease.
"Oh absolutely! Makes me feel SO much better about my life!"
"Thought your life was boring?"
"Okay I have my fair share of drama okay?"
"Boy trouble?" still trying to figure out if this girl has a boyfriend. She take a large swig of her drink finishing it, and licks her lips and she leans against the edge of my desk still scanning the room.
"Not exactly." she says vaguely.
"Girl trouble?" I say with a wink.
Cecilia clicks her tongue against her teeth and smiles. She walks over to the wall of certificates behind the desk and runs her finger across the frame of one. "You seem very... accomplished"
She doesn't sound remotely impressed. Why did she even agree to come here if she was going to be frigid. I stare out the window into the apartment across the street in an attempt to hide my disappointment. There's a couple cuddling on a small couch laughing at whatever's playing on the TV. My mind replaces the random couple with us. Cecilia leaning into my shoulder while I kiss her forehead and sneak a smell of her hair. What the f**k is wrong with me? "Would you like another drink?"
"Yes please!" she's clearly relieved that I broke the silence that had filled the room.
I pour her another drink and continue to sip on mine. Plopping down in the desk chair and watching as she takes big gulps of her drink and continues to look at everything. "Are you looking for something in particular?"
"Uh no I was just looking around. Decided if you're a cereal killer or not.." She says playfully.
I laugh "Shouldn't you of decided that before you came here?"
"Yea I don't always think things through.. I in part just wanted to see where you lived. See how you lived."
KNEW IT! She does think of me as much as I think of her. She breaks eye contact again and blushed for the hundredth time. I let my eyes wander down her curvy body. That dress fit her amazingly, hugging her body in all of the right places. She tugs at the hem pulling it down over a patch of freckles on her thigh.
"What do you think?"
Cecilia slowly leans back on my desk again. The tension building feels like a magnet pulling us closer. I want to move closer to her. I wanted to touch her but she didn't seem interested and I didn't want to feel the burn of her rejection for a third time.
"Everything's so beautiful here, suits you"
"You think I'm beautiful?" I ask with a raised eyebrow. Gotcha.
"No- Uh yes.. I mean you have good taste. Like in clothes and clearly furniture.." she trails off breaking eye contact to stare at her shoes.
"I like to surround myself with beautiful things." I stand pushing between her legs and placing my hand on her lower back to pull her closer. To my surprise she doesn't pull away. Instead she bites her lip to hide her shaky breathing. "Do I make you nervous Cecilia?"
"NO!" She says just a little to sharply.
I lean in and kiss her jaw earning a quite moan. Nipping at he neck earning a loud moan. f**k I can't hold back any long. I grab the back of her creamy thighs forcing her legs around my waist. She searches my face stopping at my lips. Her lips crash down on mine. I've missed the taste of her mouth. Swiping my tongue across hers and push her against the wall allowing her to feel my excitement.
DING! DING!
Who the f**k was at the door you have got to be kidding me. She pulls away and hides her face from me."I-I'll just be a minute okay?" We are not done here.
*****
I fling the door open "What do you want?!"
"Is that anyway to talk to your favorite flight attendant?" f**k ME.
"Why didn't you call??" Why the f**k wouldn't she call? She always calls!
"I wanted to surprise you baby. I'm only here about 6 hours." she pouts "Oh does your friend want to join?"
FUCK. f**k. f**k.
"Nope she was just leaving" I can hear her anger. I don't blame her.
"I can explain!" I try to say but she sprints out the door.
I follow "Let me explain!"
"You don't need to explain. We aren't together and you don't date." Pain clear in her face. She isn't wrong I don't owe her an explanation.
"Right but-"
She cuts of me off "You have a goodnight Mr. Newman."
My chest tightens as a tear drops and she tries to hide it. Why was she so upset? It was one date. Why did I care? I don't care. I have a beautiful women waiting at my door. I should just go back and forget about this girl.
My mind is telling me one thing but my feet are chasing her. Running to beat her to the elevator. "Please don't go." My voice cracks.
She pushes a button and steps back "Goodnight." she says coldly.
Why did I care? I don't understand what's pulling me to her. I've never felt the need to chase a women, let alone one I barely knew. I will not chase her. I will not let her have this effect on me. I regain my composure and return to my apartment.
"What was that?" she asks.
"Nothing. Do you want a drink?"
"I'll take my usual."
"Close the door behind you."
