JASPER
The sun shines obnoxiously through the open curtains. I turn and bury my face in her neck and hair. My nostrils are filled with her intoxicating scent. A combination of Vanilla and lavender.
It's a little out of the ordinary having her in my bed. I don't normally let women spend the night. Especially ones that aren't putting out. All in due time. I run my fingers up the length of her body, starting at her hip and stopping with a kiss at her shoulder. She sleepily groans but doesn't wake.
I roll to my back and flick the TV on, sure to turn the volume down low enough not to wake her from her slumber. Flipping through channels and stopping on the news.
"Another women has gone missing." says the female new anchor. "No body's have been found."
Blah Blah Blah
"Please call our tip line if you have any information that may help investigators"
I pause the TV on the photos of the missing women. Generic looking women all strikingly similar to the next. They could be sisters. Nothing stands out about them. I wander why they were taken at all. I mean honestly, if you're doing to risk life in prison might as well be for a pretty girl. I shake away the shallow thought turn the TV off and I pull my computer out to respond to emails and catch up on work.
About half an hour later Cecila groans and rolls onto her back stretching her arms above her head. "Good morning."
"Good morning beautiful, how did you sleep?"
"Sooooo good." She has rolled to her stomach now and smiling at me. She pushes the blankets off and begins to kick her legs like a child.
"That's good. Do you want breakfast? I might have something in the kitchen. Or we can have something delivered?"
"Ummmmm I'm feeling lazy. Order me pancakes eggs and bacon" she quickly pulls herself up and plants a kiss on my nose before running tip toed to the bathroom.
There was something curious about her. She was cute childlike in some ways but sexy and mature in others. I couldn't quite put my finger on it, but I liked it. I liked the way she looked when she slept and even more when she walked away. And I loved the way she looked in my boxers and t-shirt.
They would of looked better on the floor.
I search local breakfast places and order food for us both before closing my laptop and slipping into sweat pants. She is found watching trash TV in the living room. I join her after filling a mug with coffee and creamer.
"What are we watching?" I ask
"SMothered."
"SMothered?" I look at her as she is sucked further into the show. She has her knees pulled close to her chest with her chin resting on them.
"Ummm yeah.... It's about mothers and daughters with freakishly close relationships." she responds absentmindedly.
"They can make a show out of that?"
She tilts her head to look at me. "Yeah.... There's this one 'couple' that like showers together."
I give her a questioning look. Still not fully able to understand why people would want to watch a women shower with her adult child. Such an odd concept.
"C'mon dude. Tell me showering with your mother as an adult is a normal occurrence!!"
"No no. You're right!" I throw my hands up "It's really f*****g weird."
She gives me a triumphant look and stares back at the TV screen.
I don't see the interest in reality TV. Adults acting like teenagers. Embarrassing themselves on camera for the world to see. I cringe as a mother goes on a 'Chase' double date with her daughter. It's honestly disgusting. But she seems to love it so I will tolerate it for a while. Only for her benefit.
DING! DING!
Food must be here
"I'll grab it" I say. Not that she noticed. Her eyes are glazed over and imursed in the show.
I hand the delivery boy cash and grab the food before he says anything. Finally catching her attention with the sound as I drop the bag on the kitchen counter.
I pull plates out of the cabinet and begin pouring the contents of the Styrofoam contains onto them before placing them into the microwave. The room is filled with the smell of pancakes and coffee. Patting myself on the back for remembering to preset the pot to self brewed before we woke this morning.
"MMMMMMMMH" Cecilia runs over to the plate I have set on the counter and rips a piece of pancake with her fingers then pops it into her mouth.
"Want a fork or are we eating like savages this morning?" I laugh light heartedly before sliding a fork to her.
She blushes and tried to hide behind her messy hair.
The food is slightly disappointing as most reheated food is. But it's better than the stale cereal in my pantry or spoiled eggs and milk in my fridge. I really should go shopping. I typically eat out and don't find much need to shop. But I hadn't quite realized how bare my kitchen really was until I had her here. Lucky for me she didn't open any cabinets or the fridge.
Most women doesn't stay long enough for breakfast. She was different.
"What are your plans for the day?" She asks between bites of hash browns.
"I'm meeting with a few people from work."
"Oh..." her voice was low almost a whisper.
She obviously thought we were spending the day together. Why wouldn't we? I don't just hang out with women. It sounds bad but I have never had a 'date' last this long. I normally get what I want and call them a cab. Don't have much of a need for them beyond that. Besides, I don't date. I don't want to give her unrealistic expectations of what this is or where it is going.
On the other hand, I had to admit I had enjoyed having her here. The way her body fit mine perfectly. The way her hair calmed me and for the first time in months I had slept through the night. I owed her this. She deserved my attention.
"I can pick you up after?" I say in the hopes of cheering her up.
It worked
"I'd like that" she tried to mask her excitement.
We ate the rest of breakfast in silence. Sneaking looks at one another. Each trying to catch the other staring.
She truly was stunning. Her make up was smeared under eyes and her hair was in a tangled mess hanging down past her shoulders. But it somehow worked for her. She was effortless. She was a goddess amongst men and I was damn lucky she so much as glanced in my direction.
