Chapter 27: MeridianI must have dozed off on the couch because I came to in the dark. The TV was off but I heard music. I strained to listen. It was there, distant, like the neighbors listening to tunes in the backyard. I got up, looked around, but the familiarity of the house did little to squash my apprehension. The closer I got to where I thought was the source, the clearer the music became. It was the record Chester had played before he’d died. I ran into the room, half expecting to see him dancing.
