The selection

Yes, you girl! Come to the stage." The woman's voice carried on. I blinked in confusion before pointing at myself just to be sure. "M-Me? Are you talking to me?" my voice shaky. The woman sighed impatiently. "Yes, you. Come here." How many times do I have to repeat myself? She looked at me impatiently. I could feel my heart pounding violently against my chest. What could I have done now? I hesitantly stepped out of the crowd, feeling dozens of curious eyes follow my every movement, it felt like the ground could just open up and swallow me whole. My legs moving towards the stage. When I finally climbed onto it, my hands tightly joined together, I put my face down, afraid to even look up. The woman looked at me carefully before giving me a small nod. "You'll stay." I looked up, confused ".....stay?" Yes. You'll stay in the Alpha's estate from now on, you've been selected to serve here. My eyes widened in disbelief. I... got selected? I could hardly contain my excitement. She turned from me and continued calling out names. I noticed her calling out Stella and her other friend to the stage. I couldn't help but smile at that, noticing how happy they were. A few more girls were selected, and before you knew it we were done. "To the rest of you out there, the Alpha thanks you for your time, you may leave now." The woman spoke up again. The rest of the Omega's lowered their heads in disappointment, and began walking to the gate. I could see some wiping away tears from their eyes. Watching them leave made me realize how lucky I was, out of the hundreds of girls.... I had been chosen. Once the courtyard was emptied, the woman faced us. "My name is Claudia." "I am the head maid of the Alpha's estate." Her voice carrying the authority of someone who has been obeyed for years. " From this moment onward, you represent this household, your actions represent the Alpha's family." She slowly walked in front of us, her shoes clicking against the polished floors. "There are rules here." She carried on. "Know your place." "Be respectful." "Follow every order you are given." "No excuses." She stopped walking and looked at each of us. " No laziness" "I will not be put in trouble with the Alpha because of any of you." "No unnecessary gossip." "If anyone of you breaks these rules, you will be walked out immediately." "Do you understand me!!" We all nodded quickly. "Yes, Head Maid." She seemed satisfied by that. "Your work assignments will be decided now." She glanced towards me. " You red hair." "What's your name?" I answered immediately. Alyssa Ross ma'am. "You will be responsible for cleaning the bedrooms and bathrooms of Alpha's family." " You and the other two girls," she pointed to someone at my back. I turned and noticed she was pointing at Stella and her friend. " Do you understand?" She said, looking between us. "Yes Head Maid." We answered immediately. "There is one room, however, that none of you are allowed to clean or enter unless asked." "Alpha Sebastian's room." "Alpha Sebastian is quite particular about how he wants his things to be." "He is such a clean freak that his room is almost always spotless." A tiny smile appeared on her face. " Because of that, no one is allowed to enter his room unless he personally requests it." "Do you understand?" "Yes, Head Maid." Satisfied, she gave a short nod. "The Assistant head maid will now show you your living quarters." She turned towards the entrance. "Lorraine." A young woman stepped forward. For a brief second... I forgot how to breathe. She was beautiful. She had really long, dark curly hair, she had really nice tan skin that looked almost unreal. Her deep brown eyes filled with warmth, she had the kind of body girls prayed for. Her figure made the uniform she was wearing, seemed as if it was made just for her. I'm sure she has had a lot of men dropping love letters at her door every time since she started working here. "Hello everyone," she smiled kindly. "My name is Lorraine." "I'm the assistant Head Maid." "I'll be showing you to your quarters." She stopped in front of me. I didn't know what came over, but without thinking I said the first thing that came to mind. You are really beautiful. My eyes widened, and I quickly covered my mouth. Lorraine stared at me intently, before giving a soft laugh. "Thank you." she said. "You are also very beautiful." I blinked. Me beautiful? I let out a shy laugh, and looked away. "I don't think so." I had never thought of myself as beautiful I was only five feet tall, and I had curves that I was never comfortable showing. That's why I always wore oversized dresses that hid my figure. I had really fair skin, long lashes that people always mistook for extensions, emerald eyes, thick brows and my plumb, pink lips. I always tried avoiding attention, but hiding was almost impossible because of one thing. My hair. My bright red hair was impossible to ignore. It was the first thing anyone noticed, and it had gotten me in more trouble than I can count. To me, I was always ordinary. Lorraine smiled knowingly but didn't argue. "Come with me," she said. We followed her inside the estate. The mansion was even more magnificent on the inside. Crystal chandeliers hung from impossibly high ceilings, polished marble floors reflected the light, and elegant portraits lined the walls. Everything looked expensive. Everything looked perfect. Lorraine led us up a staircase before stopping on the first floor. " This floor is where we all stay and work," she explained. " Your rooms are here, and most of your daily duties begin from this floor." "The second floor houses trusted members of Alpha's household and other important residents of the estate." " The third floor is reserved for the Beta, the gamma, and their families whenever they are staying here." Finally, her gaze lifted to the very top floor. " And the fourth floor..." I noticed her voice became more respectful. "Belongs to Alpha and his family members." "The Alpha." "The Luna." "Alpha Sebastian." "His fiancée." "And the rest of the Alpha's household." I looked up towards the staircase leading to the fourth floor. Somewhere beyond those floors... Lived the future Alpha. Sebastian. The man her heart could never forget even if she tried. Just his name could stir such emotions in her. I knew I was going to meet him soon.
