“Are you scared of what awaits us at the end?”
“Are you?” I ask him back.
“No,” he says without even pausing to think. They say that if you ask someone a question and he tells you his answer without pausing to think, he's probably telling you the truth but it doesn't work this way all the time because everyone can still spout lies without even taking time to think.
I look him in his eyes before I contemplate. Am I scared?
“There's small part of me that feels scared.”
He nods and shifts in his position before he pulls me into his chest. His warmth spreads inside my body.
“I promise that after all of this, I'll ask you for the second time if I could be your boyfriend but this time it will be in front of myriad of people,” he whispers above my head.
“I'm looking forward to it.”
