chapter 9

i couldn't bare it. the sobbing coming from ryan's room. Alpha Caine really took me by surprise instead of getting someone else to do the dirty work he took it upon himself to tell harry the horrible news of his aunt's passing. 

Myself, my father, Ryan , and Alpha Zane stood outside in the hall waiting for Alpha caine to come out. 

"i should be in there" ryan whispered. 

"No son" His Father frowning. 

"harrys my mate" 

"and he is also Caine's responsibility" 

Alpha zane stared at his son. hoping that ryan would listen to reason. 

ryan began pacing back and forth. 

i stood just staring at my father. 

"who could of done this?" ryan asked he was shaking his head. i doubt he meant to ask the question out loud if anything he looked to be having a discussion with his inner wolf. 

"Caine thinks possibly a witch" Zane said whilst staring at ryan. 

i looked at him "A witch?" i said his words caught me off guard

Alpha Zane slightly nodded "yes" 

"why on earth does he think a witch?" my father interrupted. 

"he could sense magic on the ground it was faint, but he said he could smell it" 

"well let's hope whoever it is, is caught soon" i said.

"tell me you did not use magic?" my father's voice piercing in my head. 

"i didn't mean to" i said

"why the hell did you kill the human natasha?"

I looked at my father my eye's widen. 

"why the hell do you think i killed her?" i screamed my anger boiling. whilst doing everything possbile not to attract attention from ryan or his father. 

"my god" 

"is that what you think of me?" 

i continued. 

"no natasha, im sorry i didn't mean that" my father pleaded. 

i blocked him out.

i walked away from my father and found myself back down the stairs. 

"the nerve of him" opaline growled. she continued.

"he should be lucky it's not him in those bags" 

i chuckled. she could be twisted but she had her way of getting me out of an angry state. 

"i think sophie killed her" i whispered.

"we couldn't smell demon remember" she said.

"doesn't mean she didn't do it, we shouldn't rule her out opaline"

"i can feel you rolling your eyes" i said. 

she didn't reply nothing but a incoherent mumble. 

i took my phone out. and checked to see if nana had called me but nothing popped up. 

Nathan and ian suddenly walked in the front door. it was pouring with rain outside the rain hammering down , they were both covered knee deep. in mud. 

ian placed the dirty shuffle against the wall. 

nathan was removing his muddy boots. "i hate this place" nathan growled. 

i smiled "no you just hate doing the dirty work" i teased. 

"how's the boy?" ian asked 

"alpha caine's been in the room almost an hour speaking to him" 

"it's devastating to lose one's mother in the most horrific way" ian said.

i looked at him slightly tilting my head

"you meant his aunt, she was his aunt" i said to him

ian was removing unbuttoning his jacket 

"no his mother" he continued.

" she gave him up to her sister for adoption. she felt she was too old to be his mother, but with her sister running off with a new fella, Marion ended up raising her son in the end" 

"does harry know?" i asked 

ian shook his head as he was hanging his jacket up

"i don't know if she got round to tell him" he said. 

"i need to go check things" he gave a slight nod to nathan 

then bowed his head at me

 "princess" 

and then he walked off. 

i turned my attention back on nathan i think he was mind linking my father. 

"you used your magic?" he whispered in disbelieve. 

"i could smell the rotting smell i wasnt going to dig in cow dung" 

i said. 

"in my defense she was quite deep down" 

he just gave me the look of disappointment i hate that look from nathan, he was like another father figure in my life. 

"opaline made me do it" my last attempt i was like a sinking ship i'd be damn if i was going down alone. 

he looked around to make sure no one was around and whispered 

"you've got to be careful, you will have us all burned at the stake" 

and walked off 

"why did i get the blame?" opalines voice crept in my head

"sorry... you know i panic sometimes" 

"it's our magic natasha, we shouldn't need approval to use it or not" she growled.

i didn't say anything just nodded in agreement of her words as i watched nathan walk off. she wasn't wrong i was fed up of having to hide apart of myself in the fear that i could get hunted and my family murdered and not to mention our pack could be destroyed. it wasn't fair. and on top of it all the real cherry on the cake was that my mate would be rejecting me in less than 2 weeks, my life had gone from being perfect to crappy. 

i decided to wander. until i find myself in the lounge room i walked in without checking if anyone was actually in the room, Luna Kelly and her mother having a whispering conversation, i felt a little embarrassed as they seemed to be having a heated conversation 

"sorry" i blurted out to make them aware i was in the room.

"oh don't worry dear, im just making my sure my daughter is fine" her mother said. smiling at me. 

kelly didn't look to pleased at her mother, and looked at me 

"is everything okay?" she asked 

i nodded. 

"i will just leave you both alone" i said as i went to walk out.

"no natasha it's fine come sit with me" luna kelly said 

her mother gave her a stern look and quickly smiled at me 

i made my way over and sat next kelly. her mother got up 

"im going to look for your father dear" she said to kelly and walked out the room, she didn't look to happy despite her best efforts to act it. 

"my mother can be a little over bearing" kelly said as she was rubbing her growing bump. 

i looked at her "how are you feeling?" 

"just a little stressed especially today" 

i nodded my head "finding marion like that is a shock" 

"yes for that as well" she said still staring at her bump

i tilted my head, "am i missing something" i asked her 

she looked at me. 

"it's Caine" she continued. 

"every month there's a full moon Caine usually goes off the property to ensure everyone's safety" 

i looked at her. 

"im just a little scared" she continued 

"i don't understand" i said to her 

"have you heard of the curse?" 

"well i have heard rumors but nothing that sounds believable" i said

"well they are all true" she said and looked at me

"because of the body and potential threat Caine has made the decision to stay on the property tonight even though it's the full moon" 

"im sorry i still don't get it, what's so special about the full moon?" 

she looked at me her eye's terrified

" he turns into" she paused. 

i looked at her "what?" i asked 

"he loses his human side his wolf goes crazy like a wild animal "

"he's going to be chained in the cellar so don't come out your room no matter what you hear" she said 

she got up "it will be fine" she said and walked out the room

i don't know if she was trying to convince me of that or herself. i got up and walked out the room, 

silver chains were being handled by the servants and dragged towards the cellar along with heavy silver bars and a few workmen with tools. 

"don't worry, they are just building a cell for the wild beast" a sweet little voice came from behind me. 

the hairs on my neck stood up the my claws extracted 

"how the hell can you be here here" i quickly turned around 

"hi natasha" sophie said

"it's a full moon tonight i can walk during the day on the full moon, didn't your grandma teach you anything" she teased
