chapter 7 sweet 16 part 2 OF 3

walking back up the path me and harry hand in hand. i felt smugly this guy was the answers to at least some of my prayers. Ryan's mother's voice was calling my name from inside the ball room the announcement no doubt. it was a big gathering. I stopped halfway in the garden to sound of a baby crying and a young woman who was human cradling the baby she looked on the verge of tears.

"Harry wait for me"

i let go off his hand and walked across to her, to my dislike Luna Kelly was standing next to her and alpha caine waiting patiently by her side.

the young woman who actually looked to be my age had ginger hair and blue tired eyes. Luna kelly was giving her words of encouragement

i approached looking at the baby in his mother's arm.

"How old is he?" i asked.

luna kelly and caine looked at me startled that i was even there at all.

"He's 14weeks" she replied.

"he's a wolf...what's his name?" i asked 

"James" the woman replied 

"what's you name?" i said

"it's Jamie-lee" 

"mine's natasha .. can i hold him?"

kelly and caine just looked at each other, Jamie-lee gave a quick nod and handed me her son.

his crying became less as i rocked him

"im useless" she stared sobbing.

"No your not! it's nothing do with your parenting"

"How did you make him stop crying?" caine questioned.

i looked at both Alpha caine and kelly in disbelief had they both really not known. 

"he's obviously take's after his father, james isnt human, just because he won't have his first shift until 17 doesn't mean he doesn't have heighten sense of smell and sound and eye sight"

they all stared at me with dumb looks on their faces. "It's your perfume jamie-lee" i said

"the chemical's it takes ages to get used the chemicals in perfumes so much that we even begin to forget we hated the smell of it as we get older we adjust"

"my own mother banned all the house staff wearing perfume until i was at least 3 years"

"i make my own chemical free"

she looked at me with a sense of relieve, i smiled at her

"see it's not your parenting, your doing great" i said.

"if anything it's your mate that should be telling you this"

i handed her back her baby he fell asleep in my arms probably with all the screaming he had been doing.

"thank you " she whispered.

kelly put her arms around jamie-lee and walked off

"let's go to the bathroom" kelly said to her.

i glanced at caine and turned back round to get ready for the fireworks.

he didnt say anything, i kept walking even though he didn't say a word i could feel his stare burning into my back.

as i was getting close to the ballroom entrance Harrry was pacing back and forth i could smell the fear.

"im back it's okay" reassuring him whilst taking his hand.

"i don't think i can do this i feel sick" he mumbled like he was worried about having any one else listen in on our conversation.

"don't be silly harry, your ryan's mate he hasn't rejected you"

"im not scared about what ryan thinks it his parents"

"you've got me" i smiled at him.

i felt bad but didn't want him to see it. i know most wolfs reject their human mates simply because they are human. but the one's that don't get rejected they get treated like a side dish. like jamie-lee, ive seen her mate getting cozy with some blonde she wolfs earlier. but the way ryan was acting near Harry earlier im certain he doesn't care that harry is human it's no secret that his parents are very strict and narrow minded now i know why harry is worrying because ryans parents are homophobic it's hard enough in this day and age to come out because of pricks like these.

i looked at him,

"there assholes"

"ryan want's you and ryan cares for you, dont let anyone dare shame you both"

he looked at me smiling.

"plus theirs no law saying two male wolfs can't be mates so that's a positive" i stated.

"okay im ready" harry said.

we walked through the crowed to where my father and in-laws where standing everyone clapping. i let go of harry's hand gave him a quick wink and stood next to my father. ignoring whatever Luna sarah and Alpha Zane were saying i stared at my father.

"what are you up to young lady" my father's voice in my head.

i smirked at him for a second

"don't do anything rash natasha" he pleaded

"Why? will you sell me?" i said sarcastically

"don't be silly, i didn't sell you"

"are you high?" he gave me a cross look.

i smiled at him trying to control my temper "whatever help's you sleep at night"

Before my father had chance to argue his case and try give me a scolding for being high i cut off the mind link at the feel of my hand being touched and being pulled by Luna Sarah she stood me next to ryan. i looked around the room people holding there glasses up . whilst Luna kelly was still talking.

i looked at ryan

N- i whispered "where you going to tell me?

he started at me slightly shaking his head

R- "what the f**k are you on about" he whispered

i pouted  -

N -  "now now don't play dumb" i looked over to harry and gave a slight wave

poor harry didnt want to cause attention to himself and just smiled at me shoving his hand into his trouser pockets. Ryan's face went white as a sheet.

N - "you dickhead! you've known about your mate the entire time"

R - "my parents don't understand, they threatened to disown me" he hissed trying to keep his voice down.

his mum was telling a baby story about ryan to the guests, i looked around making sure no one was aware of me and ryan having our whispering argument.

N- "that's no excuse!, you knew i didn't want to be married and im not stealing harry's chance of true love like your family has done to me"

he stopped and stared at harry the love in his eye's was clear.

N - "get ready"

before he could figure it out i stepped away from him and tapped Sarah on the shoulder. she looked at me not understanding what i was doing, i was interrupting her speech.

i looked at everyone the room had gone quiet.

N - "i just want to thank everyone for celebrating my 16th birthday with me it's such an honor"

people smiled

N - " but i was looking at the invitation's and im sorry to say their's been a mistake on them"

sarah grabbed my arm and whispered into my ear " What are you doing"

i smiled at her and spoke loudly so i was heard by all,

"Harry" i gestured at him to come over he didn't look eager but he quickly stood at my side. i looked at ryan giving him a scolding look like if he didn't come explain everything and take harrys hand that i would beat his ass look.

ryan took a deep breath, approached me and harry and stood proudly by harrys side whilst holding his hand... so cute.

his mother had a face like fizz. and Alpha Zane didn't know where to look.

R- "natasha isn't my mate. harry is my true love and my mate"

people in the crowd said "awwww"

most of the people in the ball room said it at once.

there was lots of clapping and people going up to them saying congratulations.

i looked over at harry and ryan, and ryan had taken the ring from harry and placed it on harry's finger.

i dared not look at Sarah. i could already feel the irritation coming off her.

"do you feel better now?" - my father's voice again in my head

"i'm honestly happy for them" i replied whilst starting at ryan and harry

"Fitzpatrick isn't happy" he said

"i can handle caine" i looked at my father.

"Your still not coming home for two weeks" he stated.

"didn't think it would be that easy" i laughed.

the hard part was done. everyone went back to dancing and making small talk. myself on the other hand had spotted the table full of birthday presents no one seemed to be really talking to me apart from the odd sympathetic stares so i made my way over to the table to have a look at the small notes on the wrapped presents the one that caught my eye was wrapped in a red ribbon and small box the handwriting was my grandmother Yvonne's i looked at the note and smiled

happy birthday my darling, i hope this will help with your problem.

i carefully pulled the bow and opened the box. it was a necklace. i knew instantly it was for protection it was beautiful. it was black circle with a light blue pearl in the middle and black and light blue beads. it had inscriptions around the pearl but even with my eyesight it was hard to make it out. now i know this represented the birth month march. this wasn't just a gift for me, this was for Luna Kelly to help hide and keep her safe from the Lamiae

"thank you nana" i whispered.

before putting the necklace back in the box. i quickly ripped of the tag and put it in the bin next to the table. now i needed to find Luna Kelly.
