A Wolf In Shame

“Alpha, there is someone here to see you.” James said as he looked up at Scarlett who was fixing her hair, preparing to meet with the Alpha. 

After a few moments a deep and commanding voice came over the intercom to respond.

“I already told you James, I will see no one aside from my meetings and Caleb, which part of that did you not understand?” The Alpha asked in a calm tone. 

Despite the Alpha sounding calm, Katerina could sense his annoyance through his tone. Clearly this was something that had been an issue in the past that James never listened to. 

“Tell him it’s me.” Scarlett whispered as she covered the microphone of the intercom and leaned forward, showing James her ample cleavage.

James gave her an uninterested smile as he brushed her hand away from the intercom.

“Miss Scarlett, I don’t like people touching my work stuff.” James told her in a stern tone.

“Yes, yes, you’ve told me a hundred times.” Scarlett said as she waved her hand as if she couldn’t care less about what James had told her.

Katerina couldn’t help but feel bad about the way Scarlett was treating James, the boy was only doing his job.

“Look, he will let me in. I’m his girlfriend.” Scarlett said as she slammed her palm on the table, making James jump slightly on his seat.

“Miss Scarlett, you heard what the boss said.” James reminded her.

Katerina noticed as the smirk on Beta Norton’s face grew even larger at Scarlett’s insistence to get to the Alpha.

“Do I look like I care?” Scarlett asked as she glared at James.

‘You’ve gotta hand it to her, she’s one determined whore.’ Katerina’s wolf scoffed in her head.

Katerina tried her best to hold in her laughter, but she failed miserably as it came out as an awkward snort. 

Hearing Katerina’s failed attempt, Scarlett turned and glared at Katerina.

Her attention was now diverted from James to Katerina as she marched towards the new employee. 

“Was something I said funny? Do I look like a clown to you?” Scarlett asked as she was now fuming with rage.

‘Yes she looks like a clown with how thick her makeup is. I mean who did that to her, she should ask for a refund.’ Calathea commented.

Katerina felt jealous of her wolf, while she could make as many snide comments as she wanted her human counterpart needed to behave.

“No, it was just a thought.” Katerina said as she gave Scarlett a civil smile.

Scarlett did not seem to be happy with Katerina’s response and glared at her.

“Look here, pack wolf.” Scarlett said as she stood in front of Katerina, clearly angry at her. “You might think your alpha and your pack can protect you, but trust me, the Rogue Alpha is the greatest Alpha that ever lived. He is stronger than even the Alpha King.”

Katerina was ready to respond that the Moon Goddess always made the Alpha King and his heirs the strongest, but she was cut off when James decided to interrupt the conversation.

“Miss Scarlett, should I tell the Alpha you are here?” James asked as he pointed at the intercom.

It seemed that seeing the Alpha was much more important to Scarlett. The moment James offered to inform the Alpha of her arrival, she quickly calmed down and turned her attention back to James.

“Yes.” Scarlett simply said as she walked back to James’ table.

“Alright.” James said with a nod as he pressed on the same button he had earlier. 

“What is it this time, Jame?” The deep voice asked in an annoyed tone.

Something about the Rogue Alpha’s voice made Katerina’s heart beat faster, something that Beta Norton didn’t miss out on. 

Katerina knew that the Beta would notice, but she was surprised when he simply chose to ignore the fact and kept his attention on Scarlett and James.

“Sir, sorry to interrupt you again, but Miss Scarlett is here and is insisting that she should be let in your office.” James said as he released the speak button on the intercom.

Everyone was eager to hear the Alpha’s response, Katerina thought that Beta Norton and James would be nervous, after all they had just denied their Alpha’s girlfriend entry to his office.

“Scarlett who?” Came the Alpha’s response as Beta Norton burst out laughing. 

Katerina watched as Scarlett turned pale and began to panic. Not only had she been denied by the Rogue Alpha, but he even denied knowing her.

To add insult to injury she had even gone as far as bragging to everyone in the room that she was his girlfriend and that they were nothing compared to her.

Now it simply seemed like she was some delusional shewolf that was obsessed with the Rogue Alpha.

“Babe, babe, it’s me, Scarlett.” Scarlett said desperately as she leaned over James’ desk.

After releasing the button that allowed her to be heard in the office an awkward silence followed.

Katerina couldn’t help but wonder if the Rogue Alpha would recall who this beautiful shewolf was or if he would continue to ignore her. 

“I don’t seem to recall who you are.” The deep voice said, sending a feeling of relief through Katerina’s body.

Beta Norton noticed the slight change in Katerina’s demeanor and quickly took note, he decided it was probably best if he said nothing about it.

Furious with the Alpha's answer, and not wanting to embarrass herself any further, Scarlett turned around and marched away in shame.

As soon as Scarlett was gone Beta Norton and James burst out in laughter, clearly this was the result they had expected.

“She never learns, does she?” Beta Norton asked James. 

“No, she doesn’t.” Jame said as he shook his head. 

“Mind telling Adrian that I’m here?” Beta Norton asked James, who energetically nodded and pressed the intercom again.

“I swear if this is another one of that shewolf’s antics I will personally throw you out, James.” The deep voice said with a growl, clearly not amused by what his receptionist had done.

“Those antics were all due to your Beta’s desire to have fun.” James said as he rolled his eyes. 

“Is Caleb there? It’s a bit too early for his meeting.” The Alpha said in a much calmer tone.

“Yes, Adrian, I’m here. I decided to update you personally because there is someone I want you to meet.” Beta Norton said as he grinned at Katerina. 

‘These rogues are crazy.’ Calathea commented as she observed the interaction between the three men.

Katerina couldn’t help but agree with her wolf, the three men were quite odd.

“If it’s another shewolf you want me to take as my mate -” The Alpha began to threaten as Beta Norton turned off the intercom, much to Katerina’s surprise.

From what she had gathered, no one dared to refuse the Rogue Alpha, but here it seemed that his Beta and James were quite fond of pushing his buttons.

“Let’s go.” Beta Norton said to Katerina as he led her to the CEO’s office.
