Chapter 1 - JOURNEY TO WHERE

1517 Words
JADA The loud creaking noise from my old and weak door startled me out of my bed, I jumped out unconsciously and was on my feet before I knew it, my eyes popping wider, I wasn't sleeping before, but the noise made me more active. "Get dressed! You fool!!" My uncle's thick and cold voice reached me, I sneaked a disgusting look at him from under my long lashes, giving him a counterfeit smile in response. "Don't stand there like a moron... get dressed now and follow me out of this door!... now!" He shouted louder this time, I immediately rushed toward my small bag of clothes, seated close to my small window. "Yes uncle!!!" I responded, searching through the bag at once, he hissed and walked away from my old door, the door was still moving from the impact of how it was forcely opened. I exhaled my breath and stopped searching for clothes immediately after my uncle left, I looked down at my body. I was wearing a neat white blouse and blue shorts, "get dressed for what?" I asked myself, I know he meant for me to wear outdoor clothes. Which simply means we are going somewhere, I bent to keep searching, this time my thought wandering to how he had been treating me lately. Uncle Barrett is my only family and he has been nothing but pain and a great source of sadness to me. I'm an orphan and a weak omega. My parents are dead and uncle Barrett makes sure to taunt me with it. Punishes me and makes me feel alone. "Are you ready... don't let me come down there!" His voice floated into my room from my small window, I grabbed a yellow flowery knee length dress and changed into it at once. Just like how he shouted at me now for no reason, everything I do is a mistake and he would punish me for it. Have tried everything to be obedient. Maybe he would accept me and treat me as half or quarter of how he treats his only daughter. My thought landed on his daughter and I rolled my eyes heavily, Bridget is my dark and worst scary nightmare. I put on my only outdoor old shoe and rushed out of my room. The night was cold and it had just finished raining, my uncle old van was waiting outside, he pressed the van sounding segment to show me he was waiting. I ran to the van and jumped into the dirty and old back sit, my eyes fell on the sneering Bridget who was seated comfortably in the front seat. Bridget hates me with every hair on her body, she doesn't try to hide it, she instigates me against her father at every opportunity, she's two years older than me and jealous of everything I have. I don't like her too. I have tried to be friends with her but she doesn't want that, "Father let's go... we are running late now!" She spoke rudely to her father as usual. Looking away from her frowning face I settled back into my thoughts, my future looks bright and I will not allow these two ruin it for me. Right now the plan is to finish school, become independent and get out of their house, I have been living in this b*****e and pain since I was six and now I'm eighteen. My wolf stirred softly inside me and I smiled back at her, she had just revealed her self to me few months ago and we both couldn't wait to meet our mate. "He will be so handsome" my mate whispered into my mind. I blushed and covered my face. I didn't want my uncle or Bridget to see that I'm smiling. My happiness is like a disease to them, they would want to know why and take it from me. This time I won't let them know that I'm anticipating the meeting between myself and my mate, I always dream about it and wish he would love me so much and take me out of this hole. Also I know he might not want me so I have prepared for that as well, my uncle and cousin don't want me, therefore it's very possible also for my mate to hate me. I wouldn't let that stop me from shining as well. "Your mate is your own man... nobody will take him from you!" My wolf said to me, she sounded angry that I was giving up already, even before meeting him. "I know ... but remember the time when Bridget almost tore my cloth in public just because a guy she likes asked me for directions" I mind link my angry wolf to justify why I thought of being careful about men. My wolf didn't respond to that but I felt her comfort me from withen, I smiled at her and looked out of the window. One thing I'm grateful for is my wolf, since she arrived we have been good friends and she had been so supportive. The van was moving fast, the loud music blaring out of the sound system, Bridget chose the music as usual and she was singing loudly along with it, her voice wasn't so cool and it was pissing me off but I dare not say. "We will be there in an hour ... you should sit still and obey everything I say!" My uncle said to me without looking back at me, I nodded in compliance. Of course I didn't know where we were going and we have been driving for over an hour now, "she has no choice father... she will have to obey you, wouldn't you jada?" She added the question with a mocking smile. I stared at her like a zombie and refused to answer, she frowned at me and turned back to face her front, she was angry that I didn't respond to her but she said nothing about it. Instead she increased the already loud music and kept singing. Her mood is very good tonight and I wonder if it's related to where we were going. She was jumping and moving her body with full energy to the sound. Bridget is always grumpy and angry. Maybe we are going for a vacation. After that thought sipped into my small head, I almost burst into laughter, I covered my mouth to keep it in. My imagination was getting the better part of me. My uncle would never in his life take me for any vacation, the loud ringing tune from my uncle van speaker brought me back to reality at once. Bridget picked the call and left it on loud speaker, my former best friend's voice sprang out excitedly from it. My heart crushed at the sound of her sweet and soft voice. "Hey bestie... how are you doing, just wanted to remind you about the sleep over tomorrow, Amy and daniel are coming too, it's going to be a blast!" She screamed into the phone. Bridget turned to look at my sad face, "should I bring her ... your old friend?" She intentionally asked my former best friend. "Is she with you there?" My best friend responded, reducing her once excited voice and filling it with anger at once. "Oh! yes and she can hear everything right now" Bridget added, "tell her she's not invited... she's bad luck and she can go to hell!" She yelled into the phone. My uncle and Bridget burst into a mocking loud laughter. I held my chest to reduce the pain I was feeling and looked out of the window instead, Bridget was content with the answer, she tut her tongue with her teeth at me and ended the call. "Poor you, your only friend doesn't want you anymore... I pity you...greatly ..." Bridget mocked me. I wanted to pull her hair and respond to her harshly but my wolf warned me to thread carefully. She was taunting me intentionally, wanted me to take some beatings from my uncle as usual, instead I sniffed back my tears and kept staring out of the window. Bridget had successfully stolen my best friend from me like she always does, this time again, I have lost to her. My eyes fell on something and the sad and depressing thoughts about the phone conversation melted at once away from my heart. The bright lights and gigantic building in front of me called at me at once, "here we are!" My uncle announced, chuckling excitedly at his daughter. I inhaled my breath at the mansion standing in front of us, it stretches into many land and stood there so proudly and beautiful. I would think I have gotten to heaven if my uncle and Bridget weren't with me. Because they would never make heaven. "But why are we here and who do we know here? This place is definitely for one of the wealthiest people... if not the wealthiest.. my uncle had no rich friend ...." The disturbing thought settled into my mind.
