The weight of the decision bore down on us, and as I looked at Xander and then back at Magnum, I couldn't believe the choice we were being forced to make. It was a gut-wrenching decision that no parent should ever have to face, but one thing became clear at that moment: if one of us had to give up our life for Ethan to live, I would gladly do it.
