The news of Barret and Bridget's escape reached me through the lips of Alpha Xander. His eyes, showing conflicting emotions, revealed the complexity of the situation. As he recounted the events, a mixture of disbelief and frustration showed on his face. I looked at Xander's face and I knew he was frustrated with how things had turned out. He had planned to get justice for me and this is justice slipping beyond our grasp.
"They managed to overpower the guards," Alpha Xander said, his voice carrying a hint of astonishment. "It was a calculated move, almost like they had planned every step. Barret is more cunning than I anticipated. I had thought he would take the punishment that was meted out to him and his daughter. I was a fool to think they would go down without a fight."
