BARRETT'S POV The room provided by Alpha Eros did little to ease the weight of skepticism that hung heavily on my shoulders. As I sat in the adorned chair, a voice inside me whispered doubts about the sincerity of Alpha Eros's hospitality. The enormous surroundings seemed like a gilded cage, a temporary haven masking the true intentions of Alpha Eros.
