Well, they’d just go with the flow and see what happened. That was the most she could do in any situation anyway. “Ready?” she asked. “As I’ll ever be, I suppose.” Maybe not the most ringing endorsement, but Rosemary could see why he might be feeling reluctant. It was one thing to make a plan in the comfort of your own home, but quite another to walk up to a stranger’s house and ask if they’ll let you poke around to see if you can find anything that belonged to a former resident who was murdered in a gruesome way. At least, she assumed the manner of Colin’s death had been gruesome. Audrey hadn’t provided any details, and Rosemary had known better than to ask.
