“Jonah, put the phone down!” Reena snatched Jonah’s cell phone out of his hands and stuffed it into her pocket. Jonah, already highly incensed, was ready to chuck bricks by this point. “What the hell, Reena!” he snapped. “That was Eva! That might have been important!” “Really.” Reena looked unmoved and unconvinced. “What did she say?” “She asked where I was and then texted ‘Van Nuys.’” Reena and Terrence looked at each other. Jonah got even more irritated by that. There wasn’t anything he hated more in the world than being in the dark. “What’s up? What do you guys know?” His brother and sister maintained eye contact for several more seconds before Reena shook her head at Terrence. “Not important at the moment, Jonah,” she told him. “Let it go.” Jonah flung his hands up in the air.
