The whole scene turned into chaos very quickly, but Jonah never took his eyes off of Eva. Not that he had been able to keep his eyes off of her all night. The way she wore that dress and commanded the entire room of Hollywood elitists had made his mind shift into another realm of thought entirely. But he wasn’t thinking about how damn good she looked now. He didn’t think about anything except getting her out of harm’s way. Jonah broke into a run, then shoved her against the wall before that lion caved in her head.
“Jonah!” She clutched at his jacket before she buried her head into his shoulder to shield her eyes from the dust and bits of wood that flew up from the lion’s head crashing through the podium. When the air cleared enough, she yelled. “Are you alright?”
