TWELVE I awakened to laughter. David and Hayword were giggling about something. Just like old times. Was I dreaming? I opened my eyes to sunshine, and I felt a wave of relief and happiness. I was with my family again, in my house, and all was well, all was well, all was as it . . . had never been in this house. “Hop on the reality train, sister,” I mumbled to myself.
