The birthday party 3

Nicholas POV

Soft music filled the air,enough to soothe the soul .All the guests well sitter and applauded dad as he climbed the podium to give his welcoming speech in a polite manner.My eyes were still lurking the strange lady and I saw her sitting beside an elderly man with few gray hair in his beard.This man can just be a father to her.

Dad continued giving his speech in a magnificent manner,

"Everyone as you all know, we are gathered here today to celebrate the 30th birthday of my son,Nicholas. Today is a very special day for my family and i. The joy of seeing a child grow from stage one to the level is overwhelming.I want to use the opportunity to welcome Nicholas Demunte to the stage as I drop my mic".

The guests started cheering and clapping as I climb the podium.I began addressing them." Thanks everyone for being present. Without you all I don't think today will be a memorable day for me. I wanna also thank Mr Demunte,my father.Without his love ,support and care I don't think I will be who I am today.Thanks to mum,she nurtured me to this stage ".

I pointed my hands to where Sana was," Shout out to Sana for being one of my support systems.My advisor, my partner in crime..Sana began screaming at the position she was at as if air have been blown away from her body .I continued with a smile on my face,

"Sana,lil sis I will always love you".

Tears began rolling from her eyes as she went up to the podium and hugged me dearly.

" sana it is okay. You are over doing things here ". I said to her

" people are watching! " I whispered to her.

I guess that really calmed her nerves.She went to sit down and now she felt embarrassed of what she had displayed as eyes were shooting at her.

"Thanks to my buddy Bryan for always standing by me. He is like a second brother that I can freely share my problems with.You know...he is a smart dude". I smirked and continued as I see Bryan with his evergreen smile.

" You are more than multitudes of friends. Thanks so much Bryan ".

I left the stage as mum picked up and began with her speech.

" Ladies and gentlemen. You are welcome to grand party of my son.Thanks for receiving the invitation and turning out as we expected.We are so glad y'all did. Mum continued with her glowing smile.'From the very first day I carried little Nicho in my hands.I knew that my boy will be a useful figure one day.I took it as my responsibility to train him into a great,smart and courageous man he is today. The joy of a mother is seeing her children grow up before her eyes.Nicholas is so caring and everything a mother would wish in a child.Thanks for giving me so much happiness baby". She said emotionally.

There was a round of applause for her as Sana took over.

"Big brother since I was little you have protected me from harmful people that wants to mess with me.You shield me with love and you always serve as my source of inspiration. I am lucky to have you in my life.You took the role of Dad and mum in my life and whenever they are absent and I don't feel it.Nicho,nothing can never separate us even though we both get into a petty fight". She sneezed into her handkerchief and wiped her tears as the guests stood up to applaud her.

Bryan picked up the mic and gave his,

" Back in the university days Nicho,no one wants to associate with you because they feel you are full of pride and you despise to be in the midst of people'. I giggled upon hearing that .'I disagree on that because I knew there is more underneath that mask.I began to get acquainted with you to know you more.I saw a total different person instead of what people shaded you as.Don't judged a book by it cover,an adage says.You are trustworthy to be called a friend, a brother and more! Happy birthday Nicholas Demunte". He dropped the mic.As he was about leaving he turned back and there was a smirk on his face

"Nicholas Demunte I hope you get a lovely wife!" He left the stage and I began to hear giggles from the guests.Everyone applauded him.

What in the hell did he do ? he just went up and blotted out unnecessary information to the public.Mum approached my table.It seems she is up to something. Nevertheless, I know their plans for me to night.

"Nicholas,we are going to go that guest table there because that is where we will be having our dinner tonight".

I nodded my head in approval.She held onto my hand like royalty as we approached the table.As we reached there,I saw familiar faces and strange faces.

Dad cleared his throat as we were sitted together,

" sorry for late introduction.These are our special guests tonight and I am sorry the family of Mica were not able to make it to the birthday tonight due to a family business trip.This is the family of Dans and their beautiful daughter ".he said

Everyone said welcome to the family and he went further,

" the family of Reel and their beautiful angel sitter next to them".

They were welcomed politely.

"And lastly,the family of Dans and my longtime friend Mr Dans and his beautiful and attractive daughter".

Everyone welcomed them openly.Damn it! the strange lady I was eyeing from afar is the daughter to this man and he is longtime friend to my dad.My luck have began shining. What a wonderful night! I kept stealing few glimpse of her as i discussed with the rest on the large table.She just kept mute and refused to talk to anyone. I guess she is an introvert.
