Chapter 9

A small knock at the door and a quick glance at me, Kelly rose from the bed. She smiled gently at me “if you need me mind link me. I wont be far away until I get you settled” she walked towards the door and opened it to reveal my mate. They looked at each other for a moment, their eyes were slightly blank. I could tell they were talking to each other and didn’t want me to hear. Kelly’s face changed slightly and she turned to me with a look of apology and walked out. Closing the door behind her.

“ah, what was that about?” I asked Jamie as he stood at the door with his back against it. He seemed to be keeping his distance from me.. why I wondered.

“I just had a member of your pack arrive at my door with a message for me, you and Kelly.” He sighed and came closer to me. “may I sit with you?” I nodded and he took a seat next to me on the edge of the bed.

“well, what did the message say?” why wouldn’t he look at me? This didn’t feel good to me.

“it seems that Alpha Craig is demanding I return his doctor… and his Luna.” Hi voice was almost a whisper at the end..

“so he wants Kelly back?” I asked and nodded, still keeping his head down. “but who is his Luna and why did you take her?” the question felt off and he raised his head looking at me with questions in his eyes.

“You, Ashley. He claims that you are his Luna and that you had both completed the mating ceremony before Kelly took you from his land” he sounded angry and sad at the same time. He looked at me and for the first time I noticed that his eyes were black. I wanted to touch him, hold him and let him know that I wasn’t his Luna, that we did not have a mating ceremony but at the same time I was terrified of his reaction so I let him decide what he would do.

“why didn’t you tell me that you were mated?” what? He thinks I am really mated to that pig?

“are you joking? Ha ha you have to be kidding? After he tried to r**e me? He forced himself on to me and touched me you think that I wold have become his Luna? Are you mad? His eyes were now fully black and his body was shaking. I knew he was holding on by a thread and that I shouldn’t have mocked him. So I decided to try and calm him.

I placed my hands on his face and bent in slowly to kiss him.. he smelled fantastic. He smelled like freshly cut grass. I moved slightly away from him and he grabbed me. He pulled me close to his chest and took a deep breath. Knowing that only a mates scent could calm him, I stayed. I nuzzled into his chest and wrapped my arms around his waist. He wrapped his arms around my shoulders and nuzzled his face into my hair. We sat here for a while until he moved me away. He lifted me off his lap and onto the bed.

“thank you for calming me, and I’m sorry I got so angry at you. I just don’t understand my feelings for you yet” he admitted. I was happy to hear him say that because I hadn’t figured out mine either.

“I want you, I know what you have been through and I don’t want to rush you into anything. But when I got the news about you being his Luna I got so mad that I couldn’t take you and that you have been with someone else. I was angry and hurt and I came up here to take it out on you, yet you calmed me and sat with me. I’m sorry Ashley.” He kept his eyes on me. I feel like he was trying to connect with my soul.

You know little pup, I wouldn’t mind being mated to him.

‘I know how you feel, he has touched my heart being so open and my feelings feel like they are on fire.’

What are you going to do little pup?

I rose from the bed, Jamie keeping his gaze on me the whole time and went for the door to the room. I placed my hand on the door handle and looked at him. He looked sad, but why?

His face changed from sad to surprised and from surprised to intrigued. I had locked the bedroom door and made my way back to him. I dropped to me knees in front of him placing my hands on his knees.

“I will only ever be your mate. I will only ever be your Luna.. I want you. I want to start our mating process and I want to wear your mark. I want it to be the only mark I ever have. Will you have me?”
