Chapter 9 - August's Arrival

1375 Words
Nicholas fell silent again, and Ria had no idea what he was thinking about. Ria was sure that she had been able to get through to him with her story. She accepted Sherry's suggestion and did what she had to do. Now, it was up to Nicholas to decide whether to believe her or not. Just the thought that the pervert, August, lived just a few dozen meters opposite her was enough to make Ria shudder. She made sure to shut every window and curtain in her room without leaving a single gap, worried that her scent would leak out and reach his nose. After a long pause, she heard Nicholas say, "I just checked the flights, and luckily, there's a flight going into Inverness tonight. I can meet you as soon as tomorrow morning. No matter what troubles you may face, I'll be there to protect you, so there's nothing to worry about, my dearest luna. Sleep well tonight. I'll see you tomorrow." "Yes, I'll see you tomorrow." Hearing Nicholas's answer warmed her heart, and she could finally put down the burden that had been weighing her down the whole day. After ending the call, she felt like a deflated balloon with the pressure finally gone, and she dropped like a boulder onto the bed. Even so, Ria was not able to set her worries aside completely, and she barely slept a wink that night. Based on her luck, she did not have the slightest shred of confidence that everything would go well. She could not even be sure whether or not the changes that Nicholas would soon bring would set the future on an even worse path… While Ria was tossing and turning in Nicholas’s bed, Nicholas was on a plane thousands of miles away, thinking about Ria’s story. He had a stern look on his face, but it was hard to tell what his current mood was from his appearance alone. Frankly, Nicholas found it hard to believe that he could really turn into the heartless killer that was described in Ria’s story, but the strangest thing about the story was the fact that Ria’s story detailed much more about the wolves and their kings than even he knew about. Based on Ria’s status and experiences, it was simply impossible for her to have this level of information. He creased his brow into a frown and muttered to himself, “Don’t worry, Ria. No matter what happens, I won’t let any harm come to you…” A light rain started up outside as dawn was about to set in. Not a single person was out in the quiet town. Ria climbed out of bed early and headed into the kitchen to start preparing breakfast. Ria was in her element when she was cooking. It was one of her favorite ways to destress and take her mind off things as if all her worries would disappear as soon as she began. The only foods available at Nicholas’s little safe house were a bunch of easy-to-store and easy-to-reheat foods, so Ria never got the chance to really prepare a delicious meal until now. After setting the table with a delicious breakfast spread, Ria checked the time. Nicholas would be arriving soon. Angelina was just stretching her back and walking down the stairs at that moment. “Oh, sweet Ria. I could smell the food from upstairs. Living with you truly is bliss… I can’t wait to dig in already. Wait… huh? Why are there three plates on the table? Do we have a guest coming over this morning?” As soon as she asked that question, the sound of the door unlocking was heard. Then, Nicholas’s tall figure appeared at the door. "Nicholas? Why are you here?! Didn’t we just part ways yesterday!" Angelina looked at him in disbelief. Nicholas nodded, then he and Ria both looked at each other. There was a complicated look in Ria’s eyes as if there was a lot that she had to tell him. “Let’s have breakfast first. Angelina, do you mind heading back to the dorms today after breakfast? I’d like to have some private time with Ria.” Quite clearly, Nicholas did not want to involve Angelina in their problems. “I understand!” Angelina grinned slyly and winked at Ria with an expression as if she were cheering her on. The three of them shared a wonderful breakfast together. Ria did not mention anything about herself, but she did try to act cheerful. Angelina did not overstay her welcome. She quickly shoved her things into a bag after breakfast and left the house soon after, leaving Ria and Nicholas sitting face-to-face with each other in the kitchen. Neither of them spoke up at first, but the atmosphere surrounding them was heavy. Nicholas put down his spoon and took a sip of coffee before looking into Ria’s eyes. “Babe, you know how I am. I always try to simplify difficult problems, and I have an easy way to verify your story.” Ria shuddered. Clearly, she knew just what kind of plan Nicholas had in mind. Without a doubt, he wanted to have Ria meet the Wolf King August so that he could see whether or not she truly was his luna! It was the simplest and most effective way to test her claims. “Listen, I know what you’re thinking… but have you stopped to think about the kind of mess it would cause if what I said is true?” There was fear in Ria’s eyes at the mere thought of having that happen. “Trust me. I can protect you! What’s more, we’re within the college’s territory. Even he wouldn’t dare to stir up any trouble here.” Nicholas stroked Ria’s hand in reassurance. After feeling the warmth and strength in Nicholas’s hand, the worry in Ria’s eyes disappeared. She was still hesitant, but in the end, she nodded. “All right. I’ll do as you say.” “Really? You’ll follow my plan?” Nicholas seemed almost surprised that she would agree with his idea. "Of course, after all, you're the only person I can rely on," Ria answered earnestly. “Great.” Nicholas smiled. The serious atmosphere gradually lightened up, and a flickering flame seemed to be building up in his warm eyes that seemed as if they could melt Ria. He said in a commanding tone, “In that case, your first order is to forget all about that son of a b***h August and come sit on my lap. Kiss me!” Even if Ria was scared of August, Nicholas was not. He was simply curious about the answer. Right now, his mind was preoccupied with the wonderful smell emanating from Ria’s body, stirring up his lust. It was difficult to suppress his thirst for her, whether in body or soul. The only thing Ria could think about was the problem with August, so she never expected that Nicholas would suddenly change the topic like this. After being stunned for a few moments, Ria turned her attention to Nicholas. The attraction between an alpha and his luna was mutual, and her own lust was ignited when she finally put her focus on him. She blushed. “Order received.” She stood up and walked over to Nicholas’s side, spreading her legs and straddling his thighs. She could feel the hot bulge pressing against her, barely reigned in by his pants. Just thinking about his need for her was enough to drench her underwear in arousal. Ria put her arms around Nicholas and kissed him with drunken eyes. Then, her teeth were pushed apart by Nicholas’s tongue. While Ria gyrated her hips, massaging Nicholas’s bulge, the two of them engaged in a wet kiss filled with wanton passion, the sound of their heavy breaths intertwining. Nicholas felt as if his arm was being sucked in by her smooth back. It felt like a fire was lit under her skin with every inch he touched. When he reached her rump, he gave it a hard squeeze. The heated pleasure grew more intense while Ria’s moans became louder. Then, she screamed in excitement, “Come, my alpha. Take me.”
