"I mean how can you not realize that you're crushing after L-" "NO! Don't even finish that sentence, Soaf. I'm not. Okay? NO. I told you she's a b***h anyway." "You also told me she's beautiful. And she is the 'It girl'." I said. Emphasizing 'It girl'. "Ughh. Everyone at school thinks that way, Soaf. It's nothing new. Besides, she has a boyfriend." He replied, shrugging his shoulders. What? How come I don't know anything about this? "She does?" I asked. "Yeah. It's pretty obvious. She is kind of Popular. " **** I heard the doorbell. I stood up and asked Mike to start practicing the questions meanwhile I attend whoever is at the door. I opened the door and came face to face with popular blockhead a.k.a Raymond. "Hey princess! Umm...looking good." He said as his eyes roamed from head to toe. Yeah, Thanks! I really look great in my minion pajamas and unwashed hair. "Nice joke" I glared at him. "I suppose you are not ready yet. It's fine I can wait." He said shaking his head slowly. Ohh, please. How about you wait here FOREVER? "Ummm...no..yes...uhhh come in I'll tell you." He entered the house and I told him about Mike. That's what I'm supposed to do, I think. I can't leave mike like this. The weird part is Raymond asked me if he could help mike too. I went into the kitchen to get some snacks. As I came out I saw Raymond actually helping Mike in maths. "Soaf, he is really good at explaining things. Really!" Mike said with his expressions full of excitement. I smiled at Ray, he was smirking at me! JERK Mike went at seven. Raymond and I chatted for a while and then I walked up to his car with him. He had an Audi. No wonder he is rich. "It was really fun with you princess." He said while his gentle eyes were gazing into mine. "Thank you Ray and I'm sorry I spoiled it all today," I replied guiltily. "No, Soaf. Instead, you made the day. " Oh boy that smile His eyes were still gazing mine. I could feel the electrifying sensations going down my spine. "Bye Soaf." He said as while ruffling my hairs which were already a mess. I swatted his hand away glaring at him. "Goodbye Ray." Words came out of my mouth in a whisper as I watched his car going into the darkness. CHAPTER 4 Ohh shoot! I am again late for school. Mr. Hanks is going to kill me today. Ohh gosh Soaf, this is the third time in a week. I rushed towards the school entrance. As I reached the corridor I saw a guy standing next to my locker. The rest of the corridor was empty, as I was approaching towards my locker an obscure image appeared to be standing near it. It was Ray. But what is he doing here? He must be late for class. Does this guy even care? "Hey, you're late!" Ray said with a worrying look on his face. "No s**t, Sherlock," I said still panting hard as I grabbed my books from my locker. "Is everything alright?" Ray asked furrowing his eyebrows. "Yeah. Perfect." I said in a hurry. "Why are you still here anyway? Don't you have a class right now?" I asked, totally vexed by his presence. "Yeah, I was just waiting for you." Sorry, can you repeat that? "For me?" I said giving him a pointed look. "Yeah" He replied with a sheepish grin on his lips and an amused glint in his eyes. I don't know whether it's just me or he is actually looking at my eyes as if fishing for something. Snap out of it, Soaf. "May I know why?" I asked, breaking the eye contact and looking everywhere but at him. Well, I won't lie but every time he looks at me my heart starts racing. That's not good, is it? "What why? We are friends aren't we?" He said as if it was a renowned fact. Still burning holes at the side of my head with his gorgeous blue orbs. Wait, did I just say that? "Maybe, but that doesn't mean that you have to wait for me, right?" I replied. "We are already late for the class princess, do you still want to argue? Because I can do that whole day and you know I'm going to win" He said with a smirk. Arrogant Moron! With beautiful blue eyes Shut up Soaf. "Ughh, god save me" I mumbled as I started rushing towards the class. I saw Ray following me. He doesn't share this class with me. Why is he following me? As I opened the door, Mr. Hanks had already started teaching. As soon as he saw me late in the class he got angry. "It's the third time in a week that you are late Miss Esinberg." He huffed in annoyance. "I'm extremely sorry sir, this won't happen again" "Alright, come on in." Mr. Hanks said. Behind me, Ray was standing. As I reached my desk I heard Mr. Hanks saying "Oh, late as usual. Get inside." What? Remind me again, why isn't he being scolded? I saw Ray coming towards me. Marcus was sitting right next to me but Ray asked him to sit somewhere else. "What are you doing here?" I whispered. "What do you mean? It's my class." He replied. I glanced at him through the periphery of my eye. He still had his infamous smirk on those luscious lips. This is not the time to think dirty, Soaf! "No it isn't, you don't share this lecture with me." I reminded him. "Ohh, is it so?” He replied with a mischievous glint in his blue eyes "What?" I asked him, completely irritated by that smirk plastered on his lips. "Well, I just noticed something." He said out of nowhere, gazing at the board. "That is?" I waited for him to continue and get over with this s**t already. "It seems like you notice me too much." He replied. Although this made me as red as a tomato, I tried to compose myself and replied him "Cocky much?" "Princess, I am trying to concentrate here, which by the way your beautiful presence is not letting me." Stop blushing, Soaf. He's just messing with you. Damn. My heart goes all haywire when he talks like that. Well, joining more to the list, now I have to tolerate him in Chemistry also. Just my luck! CHAPTER 5 It has been one and a half week approximately, since Raymond and I were put together for the project. Which, by the way, is a sole effort. I'm have been doing my part of the project, it's Raymond who hasn't completed his part yet! Frustrating af Well, unfortunately, I'm still helping him with his physics assignments. I don't know whether he even understands what I teach him. He never asks me anything related to the topics which we've covered. Never. All he does is stares at me. All the time. But whatever, why am I even concerned about him? I just want to get rid of him. Yeah, that's what I want! Well, it's our holiday today although it's Thursday but because we have an inter-school competition in our school so no classes today! My plans for today are simple 1. I am just going grab some food. 2. Stuff it into my mouth. 3. Read Novels. Yeah novels, I am in love with almost every second character of the novel. It was only ten in the morning and I was ready to set my plan into action when my phone buzzed. 1 message from Raymond * Tap to read* Morning Princess. I was wondering if you'd like to grab a coffee with me? At Rico's? P.S - Don't freak out. This is not a date. It's regarding our project. Does he even care about the project? But it's better if we finish the project as soon as possible. We don't have a lot of time left anyway. Yeah. Cool. ~ Sophie Great. So I'll see you there in 20. ~ Raymond I reached there early. While waiting for Raymond I saw a girl nearly our age having a perfect body with these amazing looks and innocent face. I was just wondering what she was saying to the girl who stood next to her. It seems like she was scolding her. They were having an argument, sort of. "You look beautiful" My thoughts were snapped by a deep husky voice. I tilted my head upwards and realize it to be none other than Mr. Popular. "Hey! Thanks" I replied. I could feel my cheeks heated. Stop blushing Soaf, he doesn't need an ego boost right now. "So what should I get you?" Raymond asked. A small smile plastered on his lips. I think he saw me blushing. Geez, that was embarrassing. "Cold coffee with some added sugar," I said while pretending to read the menu card. "I'll be right back." He replied and headed towards the counter. While I was waiting for him to get our orders, the two girls who were still arguing caught my attention. "Here you go," said Raymond, placing my coffee in front of me. "Thanks" I gave a small nod. Suddenly the coffee seemed more interesting than anything else in the Diner. We sat there in an awkward silence. Our gaze met once or twice and we just passed a smile to each other and then looked away. Again. Okay now, this is not what you expect from Mr. Popular of the school. I knew that he could anytime start throwing those typical pick-up lines. But that's exactly what didn't happen. "Princess, I need your help with the project. I've not even started my part and there are hardly any days left for the submission. Please help me out." He sighed. I shook my head in disappointment. I raised my eyes to meet his. He was pleading me through his eyes as if I'm his saviour. And for one second I felt confident. I felt like I could be someone's knight. Maybe. Just maybe I could change him. I could change the Bad Boy. Wait what? Bad thought, Soaf . Bad thought. "Umm O-okay." I replied. My lips pursed in a straight line. "What you're not angry at me?" He said in amazement. "Naah." I replied. "Phew" He sighed and a smile made its way to his face, as he wiped off the imaginary sweat on his forehead. "Why did you-" I was about to ask something when a sudden noise went across the hall. The same girl I was looking at earlier was now scolding the girl standing next to her. Everyone in the Diner could hear them. "You b***h, stay away from him. He's mine you dumbass. He is cheating on you. Have you ever thought why would a popular guy like Caleb will fall for a nerd like you? Just look at you, buried in books, thick glasses, do you have any idea how hideous you look?" Apparently, everyone in the Diner was shocked. Not because of the fight but because the girl who said those words looked innocent. Her face was Angelic. Anyone could fall in love with her at the first glance. Her features were soft and beautiful. She looked simple yet beautiful. Then there was this other girl, with thick glasses, chestnut hair, a little fat. Her books were still lying on the table and her fingers were tightly gripping them. Her breathing was heavy and tears brimmed her eyes. She could explode any minute into tears. I could feel how humiliated she felt. I felt that too. Everyone in the Diner was staring at her. Some of the guys were laughing too. I turned to look at Raymond. "This is bullshit." He said "Tell me about it" I deadpanned. CHAPTER 6 "That is so not fair." He said embittered.
