'I see,' said Callaghan. 'All right. Did you get Paul Meraulton's address?' 'Yes, I did,' replied Darkie. 'He lives close to the office. Melleville Apartments, Glasbury Street. Telephone number is Museum 88976, an' 'e's usually there. 'E don't go out very much.' 'Right, Darkie,' said Callaghan. 'Well, you stick around. I'll probably be wanting you again tonight.' He hung up, left the call-box, stood on the pavement and lit a cigarette, thought for a moment. Then he went back into the box and dialled Museum 88976. He asked for Mr Paul Meraulton.
