Prologue

My mom always told me to be careful around fires and as little innocent me I would always listen. Then the virus came it always started out tiny and invisible until someone added gasoline to that fire making it big and dangerous. 

The scientists say it always started with the animals especially the animals of the following: cattle, sheep, goats, pigs, and horses. They would likely be under their nails or in there tear ducts and would be more active in dark moist areas in the animal's bodies. Then came a report of a person in South Africa getting some weird small red dots that would burn and itch all over the person's skin. Then it spread all over Africa making its way up to Europe and Asia then to Australia and somehow to the United States and so on. 

It was everywhere and people were dying and trying to survive this apocalypse. I saw it happen right in front of my eyes... my parents both of them... got infected.  

My dad was the first who got infected he had got red dots all over his skin and was complaining and screaming out his pain then my mom tried and help him as too was scared, but the red dots got bigger and he began to scratch his skin very hard to the point where he began to rip it off. Blood was dripping from his face as he continued to scream. My mom was also screaming and crying that her husband was turning 

You could tell he was at his full stage by the sudden drop of his voice into a growl and snarl and the glowing red in his eyes as his hair began to fall out. 

He turned his attention on me and mom as he began to run towards us. We quickly turned around and bolted out of the room, but my mom got caught and was dragged back into the room as my dad was eating her alive.

"Go, and protect Lea from any danger!" she screamed at me making me run away.

I regret every day of me just standing there in horror of my parents turning right in front of my eyes and not trying to help them. You're probably cursing me out too of me not trying to do anything. 

I question myself every day wondering how and when and why? 

How did it happen?

When did it happen?

And why did it happen to them?
