Chapter 32: The Trysting NestThe submersible rose from the ocean and nosed towards the shore. At twelve yards away it stopped and a side door opened and two people emerged swimming towards the shore. Once there they stood and pumped their fists into the air. The submersible sank back into the ocean and returned to the vessel just over the horizon.
Beauty looked upward at the towering trees and took in a lungful of the forest smell: wood, rotting leaves, mold, and the green leaves emitting their own special odor to the air.
