I watched my mate as she ran to me. She has a bloodied lip and bruises all over her. I run towards her and catch her before she hits the ground. She has passed out.
I can hear my wolf screaming profanities at James in my mind. I try to ignore it. I know James has already spoken to the pack doctor and knows how hard he can push Amber, without killing her.
But Goddess, seeing her like this is heart-wrenching.
I quickly carry her to my room and mind link Jewel to come up and to help her bath. I lower Amber into the tub in my suite. I leave Jewel to clean her up.
