I was hiding out in the library again for lunch working on my “essay”. I technically did have an essay, but it was a one-page paper that I had already finished since last week when Ethan came up to the table. “May I?” he asked, looking pointedly at the empty chair across from me. I couldn’t stop the blush from appearing on my face. “Sure.” I went back to correcting my paper. I heard the rustling of papers as Ethan went through his notebook. It was hard to concentrate with him being so close. “Are you going to prom?” Ethan asked. It took me a moment to register that he was talking to me.
