The drive back home was quiet, no one spoke, and someone needed to break the ice.
“Asking me for a dinner date, what does it even mean Kito?” I needed to be sure that what we were about to do was right.
“It means I find you attractive and I would want us to be close friends–we have been spending time together these past few weeks and I want us to move past this stage of awkwardness between us.”
“Okay” I replied
“Is that an approval to the dinner date I asked for or for something else”
“Something else like what Kito?” I asked
“Are you scared of me Renee?”
“No, I am not. It's just awkward that we are talking about going for a dinner date when a few weeks ago, we weren't even talking to each other”
“Okay, let's just say it's the beginning of something new and refreshing.”
