Renee “Hey,” I said when I answered the phone, trying to sound casual. “Just got home,” he said, his voice low and warm. “Didn't wanna sleep without hearing your voice again.” I bit my lips, trying not to smile too wide. “You’re sweet,” I murmured a little too low while lying down on my bed in the darkness of my room.
