Ariana immediately ran back to the living room as she saw her nicely dressed boss to avoid causing another commotion again.
"Maybe the tea was actually a bad idea." She muttered, sipping on the tea she'd earlier prepared for Kyle.
Kyle walked into the living room and saw Ariana standing by the television and looking tensed up. He gave her a death glare and without a word, he left the house.
Ariana heaved a huge sigh of relief immediately Kyle left the house as if all her burdens have just been wiped off. She continued sipping on her tea, but this time, sitting more comfortably on a couch, and for a moment she fantasized over his stunning look and fanciable dress.
"He knows his style but not his manners." Ariana cursed underneath her breathe.
A Week Later.
For a whole week, Kyle had to share his house with a 'rude b***h' as he always called Ariana. He couldn't understand why Lucas was finding it very hard to get few informations on a common b***h like Ariana so he invited him to his office to inquire about his findings.
"For how long do I have to accommodate that girl in my house Lucas?" Kyle queried.
"Look am sorry, but I can't really explain why finding her roots is so hard. I mean from her files she was from Tule Springs but I can't seem to find anything else." Lucas explained.
"Now that you are also complaining to me, what do you suggest I do? Leave with her forever?" Kyle asked angrily.
"Don't worry, I came across someone today who promised to help bring me some intriguing informations on her." Lucas assured.
"I better hope it's really as 'intriguing' as you make it sound." Kyle said.
Valeria called, putting a temporary stop to their conversation.
"What's the occasion Val? I hope you ain't calling to ask about that rude b***h?" Kyle asked Angrily.
"Come on K, is that how to greet you elder sister whom you haven't speaked with in a while?" Val asked.
"That's because you don't talk with me now except it's about her." Kyle replied.
"Do you hate her that much?" Valeria asked.
"Is that why you called?" Kyle asked angrily.
"Okay......I called to inform you I'd be coming over with my family. I wanted us to perform Dad's memorial as one big family this time around." Val replied.
"Woah, guess am going to be seeing you soon. When are you coming?" Kyle asked.
"Later Today. Am waiting for Carlos to get back from work so we could all come together. You should also invite Lucas, Jason and Miguel." Val replied.
"Ok then. I'd be expecting you." He said.
"Sure. My regards to Ana." Val replied, but Kyle didn't respond and immediately ended the call.
He noticed the way Lucas was glaring at him speechlessly.
"Hey, what?" Kyle asked, looking confused.
"Do you hate her that much?" Lucas asked.
"Yes. Do you have any problem with that?" Kyle asked.
"Why? What are you so scared?" Lucas asked.
"Sca...scared? Did I hear you just say scared? What on Earth would I be scared of? I'm only trying to protect my family and I from such gold diggers like her." Kyle explained, this time looking more tensed and worked up.
"Hey calm down. I understand and I would get back to you, latest by the end of this week." Lucas assured, chuckling as he walked out of Kyle's office.
"Huh, You are so mean, I thought you'd say by tomorrow." Kyle shouted after him.
Kings Palace, Summerlin North.
She was still sitting in the living room after a fiercesome fight she'd just had with Kyle in the morning when she received a call from Valeria, informing her that she and her family would be coming over to the penthouse later in the day.
"Woah, at least these place's going to be more lively, but what's the occasion?" Ariana asked.
"It's Dad's memorial tomorrow, and I just wanted to perform it with family and friends." Val explained.
"Oh, okay, that's great. I think I should start making preparations for you arrival." Ariana said.
"Hey, what preparations are you talking about?" Val asked.
"Cooking of course." Ariana replied.
"You needn't bother. I would come early so we can prepare it together." Val replied.
"Woah, cooking with you and the kids is supper fun." Ariana exclaimed.
"I know right. I gotta go." Val said and afterwards ended the call. She decided to step out to the first floor to wait for Val and also take the opportunity to have a proper look at the large fountain she'd had a glimpse of on her first day at Kings Palace afterall she loved everything about the Palace and wouldn't mind taking a tour around it to cure her boredom.
After a few moment of memorable experiences on the transparent elevator, Ariana found herself at the ever busy first floor of Kings Palace. She was amazed by the high profiled dignitaries she saw at distance, nevertheless she had to act all coy and well composed so as not to feel ousted. She sat at one of the empty tables and ordered a cup of iced Americano from the Cafeteria there.
As she slowly sipped her drink, she noticed some ladies where devouring her with their gaze. Of course she knew whom there where so she quietly turned away her own gaze so as not to land herself in deep s**t. As she tried to check if those ladies where still looking at her, she was surprised to see them walking towards where she was seated.
Ariana quickly brought out her phone and started operating it so as to keep her eyes off them, but when one of them questioned her, she was forced to answer.
"Do you really live in the penthouse?" Emily Tyler, a very famous Vegan actress and also a resident of Kings Palace asked.
"Uhmmm...... Yeah, I mean, I-I work there." Ariana stuttered.
"See! I told you I didn't see wrong that day." Camila Jordan, daughter of the Vegan's Mayor exclaimed.
"How could you shamelessly force yourself to live with a guy who clearly doesn't want you?" Emily asked in utter disgust.
"Uhmmm......I don't live with him.....b-because I wish to. I 'm...I'm merely a staff there." Ariana managed to explain herself.
There where still discussing when Sofia Ryan, an all time Entertainment News Anchor walk up to them.
"Any tangible info? Cause am still trailing Mr Ablutomaniac." Sofia said and the others bursted into laughter, leaving Ariana speechless.
"You have to look harder and closer because this slut here says she's working for Mr Ablutomaniac." Emily replied.
"Of course, who doesn't know Mr Abluto wouldn't leave with anyone talk more of a- (Camila paused to give a disgusting look at Ariana before she continued) -dimwit like her." Camila added.
"Abultomaniac?" Ariana exclaimed.
"Come on, am only been sincere. Who in this Palace doesn't know he's a neat freak." Camila said.
"That doesn't give you the right to call him that. It's kinda insulting." Ariana defended.
"Oh really! But how's that your business?" Sofia asked.
"Hmmmm, maybe she's got a thing for her boss." Camila replied.
"Don't even dare or Jasmine would so kill you." Emily added.
"Oh that's too harsh Emily, you know she's only a cheap slut who's seeking for favours from her boss. Mr Kings we all know have no dating plans talk more of a thing like her." Sofia said and they all burst into laughter.
Ariana was now totally speechless and kinda scared of talking back at them. Not like she didn't know what to say, just that she was worried about the outcome of been rude to such high dignitaries. For the first time in her life, she felt unjustly oppressed and couldn't even defend herself.
Kyle who had been watching them for sometimes now walked up to them and grabbed Ariana by the arm.
"Cheap Slut?" Kyle exclaimed. "How dare you talk to her like that? Huh?" Are you that jobless or is oppression your new way having fun?" Kyle queried. He didn't give them a chance to explain themselves before pulling Ariana off with him to the elevator, with Lucas walking behind them.
"Lucas, send the residents a emergency notice. We are having a meeting at the community room." Kyle said to Lucas before turning to face Ariana who was still feeling down as a result of the embarrassment she just had.
"I thought you had a loud mouth. Why didn't you use it in lashing those bullies and you just stand there looking like a dumbass?" Kyle scolded.
"Huh, you really don't know? That was the Mayor's daughter, Anchor and a super famous actress over there. What was I supposed to say, get myself in deep ship?" Ariana lashed back at him.
"So you still got your voice? Don't you know who I am? If you don't them let me remind you, Am the CEO of Kings Holding Enterprise the number one real estate company in the whole of Las Vegas and the Landlord of Kings Palace; the tallest building in Summerlin North.." Kyle said.
"Of course I know that. You don't have to brag about it." Ariana rolled her eyes.
"And you still dare shout back at me but you can't even talk back at them? It's obvious you are scared of them but ain't scared of me" Kyle said in such a loud and scary voice which got Ariana a little scared.
"Now I am scared of you." Ariana replied as she relaxed her back on the elevator and just then the elevator opened and Ariana slipped and almost fell off the elevator if not for the swift intervention of Kyle who held her hand and pulled her to himself. They locked eyes for a moment before Ariana unintentionally nodded him on his forehead thereby forcing him to push her into the veranda of the penthouse.
"You're so clumsy with a stony head." Kyle lashed at her whilst rubbing his forehead.
"Huh, look who's talking. Of course it's obvious I'm stronger than you are because I thought I just hitted a super soft mattress like the one I sleep on, maybe it's because you barely eat." Ariana lashed back.
"Stronger than who? You must be very delusional." Kyle said before turning to Lucas who had been laughing at their silly quarels all along.
"Lucas, don't make the mistake I made. You see what I get from saving her from those hungry lionesses." Kyle said.
"Well, I didn't ask you to intervene. Afterall you only made things worse." Ariana muttered to herself. Ensuring that Kyle had no idea of what she just uttered, she marched to her room, leaving Kyle and Lucas in the living room.
"I didn't know you could be this dramatic you know." Lucas said, as he was finally trying to catch his breathe from laughing too much.
"Wh-What do mean by that?" Kyle asked.
"Nevermind, When do you want your meeting with the residents to be?" Lucas asked.
"Three days from now. Tomorrow is Dad's memorial, help me send words to Miguel and Jason. Val wants to see you all." Kyle replied, this time sounding more serious.
"Miguel is not in the country, but Jason and I would surely be there. So what about your dinner with CEO of PE holdi....." Lucas was yet to complete his statement when Kyle interrupted.
"When are you ever going to stop nagging me about that dinner? Why don't you just tell her I said am not so hungry to have dinner with her afterall she listens well to you?" Kyle said.
"You such a big time jerk K. And you know Jasmine would soon be hanging around you." Lucas said.
"Whatever, are you leaving now or you'd await Val?" Kyle asked.
"I have to meet with Dad. I would see Val and the boys tomorrow. Make sure you get some sleep, you sure need." Lucas said and afterwards left the penthouse.
"I'm not even sleepy, what's he saying. I would just lay down for sometimes and that would do." Kyle said and went to his room to rest up before Val and troublesome boys come over.
Few Hours Later.
Kyle woke up as a result of the loud noise made by Brayden & Bryce Rodriguez, Val's twin. He was surprised to see that time has been far spent as he thought he was only resting for few minutes. He went into the busy kitchen to say hi to his sister and return to the living room and chat with Carlos who was watching TV.
"Thank goodness you're right on time. Why don't you and Carlos help set the table while Ariana and I bring up the foods and desserts." Val said to Kyle who had just entered the kitchen.
"And help get the drinks too." Ariana added.
"Really? Do I look like am jobless? At least you should've lete say hi, before you start sending me on errands." Kyle said angrily.
"Oh, and the wine glasses. Make sure you keep them out of the twins reach." Ariana said.
"Go f**k yourself bitch." Kyle said and left the kitchen. Even though he didn't like the idea, he still had to do what he was told.
Ariana and Val burst into laughter immediately Kyle left the kitchen. They quickly dished out the foods and sent them to the dinning room where there met that the table had already been set by Kyle and Carlos. They all came to sit down and have dinner together whilst also talking about random stuffs even though Val didn't like the idea of talking while eating.
"Unle!" Bryce called out to Kyle.
"Yeah what?" Kyle asked.
The twin faced each other and debated on whether to ask the question they actually had in mind.
"Why don't you just ask what ever you wanna ask. You should already know by now that you uncle is the smartest creature on Earth." Kyle said jokingly.
"Uhmmmm, uncle, do you really have a soft head?" The twin asked, making everyone in the room erupt into laughter except Kyle.
"What? Who told you that?" Kyle asked angrily.
"Hey, what's the meaning of that?" Carlos scolded the twin.
"Uhmmm, ucle Kyle kept saying that he doesn't have a soft head in his sleep." Bryce explained.
"Yeah, and he kept massaging his head." Brayden added.
"Uhmmmm, You should have asked me personally since this was a personal question." Kyle said.
"What happened with your head?" Valeria asked.
"Nothing." Kyle and Ariana chorused.
"It's obvious there's something." Val said.
"Let me guess. I think they nodded themselves because Ariana's forehead is kinda swollen." Carlos guessed.
"Is that so?" Val asked looking sternly at Ariana and Kyle simultaneously but no reply came from them. With the look on their face, Val could tell that Carlos guessed right.
"Come to think of it, she told me she hitted her head on the wall mistakenly." Val said.
"Really? What do you expect her to say. She can't handle the truth I guess." Kyle said, making a mockery face at Ariana who had been eating her food silently.
They had the rest of their meal in silence and later on Val, Carl and K had a closed door meeting at the balcony about the next day's event while the twin where immediately sent to bed. Since their father was a public figure there would be expecting alot of prominent guest.
After the meeting, Carl and Val walked back to their room while Kyle sat at the balcony looking sad. Ariana walked up to him and tried starting a conversation with him.
"Thanks for today." Ariana said with utmost seriousness.
"Are you okay?" Kyle asked.
"What do you mean by that?" Ariana asked.
"What happened today that you are thanking me for?" Kyle asked.
"Huh! Well, earlier downstairs." Ariana tried explaining even though she was irritated by Kyle's feigning of cluelessness.
"Oh that!" Kyle said sarcastically.
"Yes that!" Ariana scolded.
"I didn't do that for you though. I did that so as not let you embarrass my household and tarnish my reputation since you are my staff and you live in my house." Kyle explained.
"Can't you at least try to be modest for once or at least pretend to be? Ariana asked.
"Oh, I do that every f*****g day of my life since Dad died. I do things I didn't even wish to just to please other. Everyday of my life, I go to work smile at random people, shake hands with them even though it makes me sick. I do this all my life, pretending to love things I desperately hates, so how dare you talk to me about modesty.?" Kyle angrily lashed at Ariana before he became conscious of his act. He suddenly felt guilty for transgressing his pain and anger to her but been the macho man he always is, she felt apologizing to her wasn't necessary so he walked out of the balcony into his room without anymore word from him.
