A week down the line and Kyle's brooding doesn't seem to be ending soon. He went back to his overly bossy behavior and fired more than five people every single day over one little mistake or another. Lucas and the rest of his friends tried to cheer him up in the absence of Valeria but it all seemed to be furtile, because he hadn't speaked with Valeria ever since she arrived at Canada which got him more worried. He thought that Ariana might have first him into reporting to Val which was the reason why he couldn't reach her. "What if she never comes back to Las Vegas?" Kyle muttered to himself as he sat in his living room, brooding as usual. "Bringing that b***h here was a totally bad idea but Valeria never listens to me." He added. The fact that he couldn't also reach Carlos worsened his thoughts and imagination. "At least she should have heard my side of the story first." He said to himself. A creaky on his door and he was still not aware as his thoughts were far from home. Valeria walked into the living room and saw how miserable Kyle looked as he sat half-heartedly on his couch. "You prefer this kind of life right? Than having a single mother live with you." Valeria asked harshly, jolting Kyle swiftly off his thoughts. "Va-Valeria! When did you get back? You should have asked me to pick you up from the airport." He said as he tried to hug his sister but failed because she didn't seem so happy to see him as he was. He knew exactly the only reason why his sister would be this mad at him so he went back to his seat, all the while, not taking his eyes off her. "It's because of that b***h right? What did she say this time?" Kyle asked angrily. "What did you do to her and where the hell did you keep her?" Valeria lashed at him. "You should be the first to know if she already spoke with you." Kyle replied unwarily, causing a rapid increase on Valeria's anger. "Did you succeed in killing her? Like you couldn't the last time?" Valeria asked as tears flows down her eyes. Kyle was shocked to see this as he had thought Valeria was joking about his way about. He moved closer to his sister and tried explaining himself but she didn't give him that pleasure. "I thought you'd be sensible after you almost killed your former househelp all in the name of her running away from her family. Do you realize how long she stayed at the hospital before she could finally recover?" Valeria said, not putting a stop to her cry. "Val am sorry. I swear I didn't do anything to her though my anger pushed me to. I only sent her out of my house, though it was on an ungodly hour and weather but am sure she'd find her way out since she's already acquainted with this area. He explained, this time feeling remorse. "Oh, really? So you know what an ungodly hour and weather is? What a great improvement. Nice job, am proud of you. What did you think could have happened to her leaving the house by that time?" Valeria mocked angrily causing Kyle to also get angry. "Maybe it was all part of your plan to get rid of this pain of a brother. You knew she was a single mom and you brought her here so I could kill her and end up in jail or a psychiatric hospital, then you could finally live a free life with your family and you could only visit me whenever you wish or you are aloud. Then you won't have to worry about me ever." Kyle said angrily, getting totally on Val's nerve. She was so upset that she slapped him hard. Val chuckled softly in anger. "You're such an ingrate K. Do you seriously think I can't live a worry free life with you around? Just watch me leave man." She said and immediately, she left the penthouse. "Yes. Go like you once did." He shouted after her as he broke down in tears. "And I will gladly live my life forgetting that I have a sister." He added. After Valeria's departure, Kyle sat down to and cried bitterly. He didn't mean what he said but he already said it and they was nothing he could do about it. How would he live the rest of his life without his sister to guide and protect him? He sobbed freely as he was sure no one at home, but when he heard Lucas, Jason and Miguel's voices from the door, he quickly dried off his tears and stood up to leave for his room. They noticed he was avoiding them and they complied with him and just stayed in their space as they've been living in his house for the past one week now. Once Valeria stepped out of the Palace, she brought out her phone and called. "Hey Oscar. How's she doing?" She asked. "Better, but she started seeking for job today immediately she became conscious. She also want to live this place since she doesn't know me, but she also finds me familiar." Oscar replied. "Of course she's smart enough. Have she met with Dr. Hawkins yet?" Val asked. "No, just me. She said she's only listening to me now because I'm her lifesaver." He replied. "Ok. Don't tell her anything yet, I will come over with Dr and explain things to her." Val said and ended the call. She entered into her car and asked her driver to drive her to Dr Hawkins's office which he did. Immediately she arrived she heard straight to his office to discuss something important with him. "Good evening doc." She greeted. "Evening my dear, how are you doing and how was your trip." He asked. "Am good sir. I came to ask if you could go to Oscar's place with me tomorrow to check up on her." She requested. "Sure why not. He called to tell me she's awake." He said. "Yes. But it won't stay there for long if she doesn't he from us. And her son's birthday is coming up this week, so she needs to go on time." She explained. "Oh yeah. Let's check on her tomorrow." The doctor suggested. "Sure. I will ask Oscar to make sure she doesn't leave the house tomorrow." Val replied and after sometime, she left his office and went back home to her family. Early the next day she received a text from doctor Hawkins telling her the exact time he'd be less busy so they could out as planned. Valeria made sure she completed her house chores and also sent her kids to school before the time. Carlos has been feeling uneasy ever since their return from Canada because of his father's predicament. He might not have much time to live and his dearest wish was seeing his oldest child and only daughter. Valeria did her best in helping her husband find his sister as they dispatched different secret agents and private detectives to help in searching for her. Once it was time, Valeria drove off to Dr Hawkins office and picked him up before they went to Oscar's place. When they arrived at his place, they met Ariana (who still had bandages wrapped around her head) and Oscar arguing over her leaving the house before they decided to interrupt the conversation. "I can see you're recovering real fast." Dr Hawkins said. "Dr Hawkins? What are you..........?" She stuttered as she saw Valeria besides him. Oscar welcomed them willfully and this sent and idea to Ariana. "Did you know I was here all this while?" She asked, directing her question to Val. "Shouldn't you at least welcome me first? Anyways, am glad you're healthy, but isn't it too early to start stressing yourself?" Val asked worriedly. "How did you know am here? Is here working with you? Was all this happenings always your plan?" Ariana questioned angrily. "Look, let's talk about this. I can explain, but now is not the time. You ain't fully healed Ana, you head still hurts and I wouldn't want to say something that would jeopardize your health." She said worriedly. Not getting the answer she expected, Ariana went into her room and brought out her suitcase. "Even though I was just some kinda client to you, am still very grateful to you for saving my life." She said to Oscar and was about to leave when Valeria stopped her with her next statement. "Please forgive him." Valeria pleaded. Ariana stopped and took a quick glance at Valeria again as she chuckled softly. "Who? Kyle, oh Mr. Kings?" Ariana asked sarcastically. "I was treated like trash by him and now you ask me that? Please allow me to leave in peace since you ain't willing to tell me what's going on.. Am grateful for all you've done for me and I always will." She said as she turned back and was ready to leave when Valeria stopped her again. "I hired Oscar to stalk you, that was how he was able to bring you to Dr Hawkins after your accident that night." Valeria explained. "Let's all sit if you wanna here the rest." She added. Ariana who was extremely curious dropped her luggage and made herself comfortable on a sofa across Valeria's. "How long has it been? I mean how long has he been stalking me?" Ariana asked curiously. "Wanna talk over coffee?" Oscar suggested as he went into his kitchen to brew so coffee for his guests. "Oh, that coffee. Now I recall where I first met you Oscar." She said as she had a sudden flashback of the time she was seeking for a job. "You where the one who directed me to Kings Holdings right? Was it since then? Have you been stalking me since then?" Ariana asked curiously. "It was ever since I saw you at the Garies Mall where you lashed at your then boss after being fired." Valeria explained. "So all this while, my life was been controlled by you, and I was just a pawn in your chess board." Ariana said as she was now moved to tears. "Look Ariana, I didn't mean to go this far. I desperately wanted to help my brother and when I felt like you needed help I also tried helping you out." Valeria explained. "Helping me out? You call that helping me out? You practically used me." Ariana said angrily. "I know I used you but I'm sorry. We should all move on from that. Think about your son, his birthday is coming up soon you know. You've got to prepare for that and by so, I mean you have to surrender yourself to fully healing." Valeria advised. "My son? The one I was supposed to keep a secret from your brother? The one I was treated worse than a trash because of? Don't bring my son into this please." Ariana said as she slowly started weeping. "You're doing well Ana, don't ruin things because of momentary anger." Doctor Hawkins said. "I be leaving for now. Let me know what you decide on. My ride is here so you needn't bother." He said to Valeria before taking his leave. After Dr Hawkins left, Valeria stood up from her seat and went to seat beside Ariana as they continued talking. "I thought we were getting acquainted. I thought he was finally changing for good but what happens next, he tries to kill me the next moment he knew i had a kid, even if he hates kids that much he wasn't supposed to send me out that late. I almost died because of him." Ariana said as she wept sorrowfully. "I know he was wrong and am sure he's regretting it deeply now. He've not been doing okay ever since you left. And about your kid, it not like he hate kids, it just that............." Valeria was trying to explain when Ariana cut her shut. "Please spare me that Val. You don't always have to defend him at all time and like he wanted, an out of his life for good and now I just want to see my family but I don't know how to go about it. I don't feel it's cool to just go back just like that." Ariana said. "I have a plan only if you'd listen to me and follow my advice." Valeria said. "Am all years." Ariana replied. "Do you still have Logan's contact?" Valeria asked. "Yes, I never let myself lose them, but why do youa ask?" Ariana asked. "Call him and inform him about your plans." Valeria suggested. "What! I haven't spoken with him in a long while and you just expect me to call him?" Ariana asked worriedly. "Yes, didn't you say you both were very close?" Valeria asked. "Yes, but......" Ariana was interrupted by Val. "No buts. No matter how angry he is at you, he'd want to see you first before he vent his anger. So he's your best bet right now." Valeria explained. "Hmmmmm." Ariana sighed. "Ok, I will, but I don't even have a phone right now, I will have to purchase one before I can call him." Ariana said. "You lost your phone at the accident scene?" Val asked. "Yeah. And about my salary, I want you to stop me from receiving them anymore." Ariana replied. "Ok then. I will get you a new one. You are in this condition because of him so it's necessary to still receive the money." Valeria said. "But........" Ariana was again interrupted. "I already said no buts. I will stop sending you money once our agreement date elapses." Valeria affirmed. "And about this place you don't have to leave because it's not Oscar's, it's yours." Valeria said. "But we live here together." Ariana said. "That's because I was worried about you leaving while you were still very sick." Valeria explained. "Am done receiving freebies from you Val. I now feel more like an orphan." Ariana said. "This is not some kind of freebie Ana, this was part of our deal remember, to give you shelter till the deal is over." Valeria reminded. "You must have a degree in convincing people to follow your plans." Ariana said. "I'd take that as a compliment, so are we even now?" Valeria asked. "I guess we are." Ariana replied. "I have to leave now because I need to pick the kids from school." Valeria said. "Oh, I forgot to ask about your trip to your in-laws. How's his health?" Ariana asked. "Not too fine, he's requesting to see his eldest daughter who's been away for like twenty-seven years now and my husband is practically depressed and bent on finding her." Valeria explained. "Hmmmm, that's such a long time, I hope he finds her." Ariana said. "I gotta go girl, don't think about anything else and just focus on recovering. I will let you decide what you want once you are fully healed." Valeria said as she stood up to leave. Ariana saw her off to her car and came back to the house while Valeria called Oscar to her car to discuss something. "She said she lost her phone at the scene of the accident. Find it and bring it to me as soon as possible, I need to do something with it." Valeria asked. "I will do just that." Oscar replied and was about to step out of the car when Valeria stopped her. "And lest I forget, get her a new phone and don't let her know if you find the old one. You can also go to your place now." She added. "Ok ma." He replied and afterwards left for his house. Valeria drove to her children's school to pick them up and after that went straight home. She was surprised to meet her husband sitting with Lucas, Miguel and Jason as they ate their lunch. She sent her children in after greeting their father. She also greeted her husband and ignored them but they stopped her with their continuous greetings. "Save your greetings and tell me why you are here?" Valeria scolded them. "Did we by chance offend you?" Miguel asked pitifully, trying to gain pity from Val. "No that not how you're supposed to put it.". Lucas said to Miguel before turning to face Valeria. "Just tell us what we did wrong and we'd try our possible best to right our wrongs." He said. Valeria didn't seem to be buying their plea and they decided to turn to Carlos for help. "Please help us talk to her, Will you?" Jason asked. "Maybe I should help them out a bit, huh?" Carlos said to Valeria as he pulled her to sit on his lap before answering Jason's question. "Did you all think my wife didn't know about Ariana before sending her to the penthouse? When you found stuffs about her why didn't you at least talk to her about them before disclosing it to him when you very well know how he reacts?" Carlos lashed at them and by so doing, they knew what they did wrong and they began to explain. "I swear we only told him she was an addict and he was cool with it after haven spoken with Dr Hawkins." Jason explained. "Yes, but that b***h spoiled everything. I don't know how she found out." Miguel added. "What b***h are you talking about?" Carlos and Valeria chorused. "Jasmine." Lucas replied. "What? Who does she think she is to do a background check on her? I need to put that b***h in her place." Valeria said angrily. "Nevertheless, you guys are still faulty because if anything happens to her because of K, I won't forgive any of you." She added. "Is they anything we can do so you could still talk with him? He's being indoors since your quarel with him." Lucas said worriedly. "They's nothing you can do about that because that's part of his punishment. The only thing you can do for me now is to not do anything for him. I mean anything that happens to him from now on don't try to dig in." Valeria threatened. "B-but......" Miguel was interrupted by Carlos. "Do you think this punishment is too much for trying to kill a person? Do you know what might have happened to her after sending her out that late?" Carlos scolded. "Hmmmm, what do you think guys? Why don't we try to find her and..........." Miguel was again interrupted, but this time by Valeria. "That's exactly what I warned you all against. Stay away from helping him, if not you all will incur my wrath." Valeria scolded harshly and went to her room, leaving them behind. Carlos explained to the guys what his wife meant and afterwards dismissed them.
