Chapter 2

914 Words
“I stood upon the barren land, Where once a garden bloomed so grand. My hopes, my dreams, my heart's delight, Were all with me when she came into my life” ☆☆☆☆☆☆ Two years ago, the news of the queen going into labor was spread all over the castle. “QUICK! BE QUICK!” These were the words that could be heard all over the chamber,.....the shared chamber of the king and queen … Ara writhed in pain, her body trembling as her one wish edged closer to becoming reality. Then, at last, the cries of a baby echoed through the chamber… Ara held the little, pink, crying body against her, looking at the infant’s eyes, nose, and lips She was just like Ara. Ara felt her heart skip a beat, tears welled up as she held her baby ….the baby was hers, hers only, her blood, her comfort...her everything …….Ruby Elenora Velmire ……… The words left her mouth. In a soft voice, why did she name her Ruby?... because of the color of it …red “The color of rose, the color of love, the color of desire, the color of blood, the color of her lips, the favorite color of Ara, the color she loved, the color she adored, the color that can attract her from miles away, the color……red” “My love” “My light, my innocence and my flesh …..I name you Ruby …my Ruby …” ☆☆☆☆☆☆ Since the moment Ruby Elenora Velmire was born, Zustan…the king of ASTERIOS KINGDOM had changed … All hopes and dreams of Ara started to crush.. She would yell, scream at him to tell one reason why he is acting like this …but he never answered. He was the power..and his mother, the mother queen, was on his side. He had everyone. She felt lonely. She had her daughter, but she wouldn't lie that she felt lonely. There was no one to understand her pain and suffering. The people she trusted treated her like nobody. The love she thought was perfect killed her inside. The little body of blessing, the ethereal flower and diamond of the kingdom. The most beautiful creature ever to be born was seen as nothing more than a desire by the men of the castle, and Zustan didn’t even care. How can he? How can he do this? Where did the love go? Ara wanted to cry out loud. He was the only one she had, she had trusted him, what about the promises he made when they married?.. He didn't take time to marry again, another woman, younger, brighter. She may be the queen but never the one who can control, always the one in control. Her daughter, who was like a doll, came alive, was not even cherished by her own father.. Ara cried and cried hopelessly. Maybe one day, one day, Zustan will see what he has done and will ask for forgiveness …but this hope was crushing, crushing as time passed. ☆☆☆☆☆☆ It has been 2 years since the birth of her daughter, Ara, who isn't noticed by the royalty of the castle, lives in a corner of it, She has become friends with the maids, especially Nana, her comfort mother, not biological one but none less. Nana has taken care of her and Ruby since her birth and is continuing to fulfill this beloved role. Ara’s thoughts drifted to the night snow, gently kissing the balcony plants—a night that changed her forever… ☆☆☆☆☆☆ Some months ago It was a winter night. Snow was lightly falling over the small flower pots sitting at the ends of the balcony. Ara, as usual, was admiring the nature outside. It was late, and just today, she found out she was going to have another child. But she wasn't so happy about it..knowing it is just to have an heir to the kingdom and the baby father wouldn't even look at the baby if it is a girl, she hoped so. Suddenly, she heard a sudden yelp of her little princess...her jaan, her breath of being.. She quickly snapped her head back to look at what happened and saw her little breath of being was all sweaty, breathing heavily, her light brown eyes open wide, she was trembling due to the nightmare she just had, and slowly, she started to cry. “Mama! Mama! Schave Me! Mama! Mama! I am scared!! Ara felt her world going upside down. She ran to the baby …hugging her. “Mama is here, mama is here..shhh”. Ara was scared, so scared to admit what she was fearing the most. ☆☆☆☆☆☆ And it continued for months.. Now it was more often, her late night nightmares, but Zustan never cared, thinking she was pouring silent sorrows for food or milk …accusing Ara that she is not a good mother, not taking care of the little thing carefully …was it her fault now?... She looks at him in a disgusted way every time he talks about his own little daughter like this. ☆☆☆☆☆☆ “Ruby... Ruby... my little flower. When will you grow up? When will I tell you my little complaints? When I want to eat something cold, you’ll bring it to me, right? You know I love you... you won’t leave me, right, baby? I’m scared. I’m alone. Don’t leave me! I will die... I will die, Ruby, my princess! My breath of being !”
