Chapter 7

“She had dreams—quiet ones, soft ones. But maybe the world was too loud for her. That day, she lost more than just a thing… She lost her dreams. She met her fear.” ☆☆☆☆☆ It was the night of the next summer, many months passed…and the behavior of Ruby too… Ara noticed it, She was sad, But she was glad… She was glad that Ruby got to feel the reality, to make herself better before any storm struck, to shield herself from every problem that comes her way. Ara was noticing how Ruby was more silent now. It hurts her deeply. She slowly made her way to Ruby chambers, softly opening the big ancient door of her room. “Ruby-love?” She asked for her presence in the room, and then her eyes fell on the tiny figure sitting in front of the window, looking at the silent sky filled with clouds and a sun going down…the sky was purple , blue , and orange…a little bit of beige color. “Yes mama?...Do you need anything?” Ruby spoke softly , her head tilted towards her mother now. “Nothing, just wanted to spend some time with you.” Ara spoke as she fully came inside . Ruby got up from the chair, going to her mother, sitting on bed beside her. The bedsheets ruffled, and the mattress damped as they sat on it. “You can spend so much time with me, as long as you want mama” Ara chuckled… caressing her daughter's hair slightly. “Ofcourse, my little one ..so what were you thinking looking at the sky?” “Me?...thinking about…..I…” Ruby hesitated, not sure to tell her mother. “You know you can share anything with me, my little world” Ara spoke as she held her both hands, her thumb caressing them. Ruby looked into her eyes and took a deep breath before speaking. “I…was thinking about dancing…I…really like it mama, but….I don't know…it feels wrong, it isn't right” Ara could sense the desperation and longing behind the facade Ruby held. She wanted to remove every doubt, every insecurity her daughter had. “Why does it feel wrong?” “It's just…..dancing…is a way to please others …and ..I don't want that ..no” Ara clutched her hands, her eyes softened..why did her daughter think like that? When? “My love, who said dancing is to please others? “Nothing is wrong, my love, nothing …but the way you do it makes it wrong or right…you think of dancing like that?...to please others?” Ruby looked down before nodding her head slightly. Ara spoke while still holding her hands , reassuring her that what she had in her mind was not right. “Dancing, you like it?...you want to do it?” “yes ..mama…I want to …I want to know how it feels like to twirl, move my hands like the wind, I want to see my gown moving with the air and my hair swimming in the breeze.” Ara felt her heart break at that sentence. “then…don't be scared, my jaan. Dancing is OK, it's your dream …you want to move freely like the wind, it's totally ok …nothing is wrong in that, and I also know what you are worried about … Let me tell you Every human in this world is different, what you like, not everyone might like it, and what they like, maybe you might not like it. There are always two ways to use anything. Good and bad ….. Even killing someone is right when you are the one getting attacked, but killing someone for your desires is not right…you should always stand up for yourself when the harm is done to you..and if someone does something to themselves, you must not judge them. Some people dance because they feel better when they do it, some do for greed and some do for other reasons ....you may have seen women dancing to please others, but ... .it doesn't stop you from doing it for yourself. Not everything you see has the same meaning, my love. It isn't harming you…the way you do it, decide your better or your loss..if you want to do it , do it …in your own privacy where …there is Noone but you and your God …and you know?.... There will be no one to judge you then, only you and your God… I know you are scared, what if people saw you and looked at you in a way you feel disgusted by…it's actually good that you feel this way, it shows your worth ..not everyone have to see you, because when you love something, you get happiness by doing it, not showing it off to others …or else it loses its worth, because some people will hate it while other will love it and soon the way you look at it will change…remember that my love ..” Ruby eyes were wide now. She never saw it this way. How right it was was making her feel more excited..to do what she loved. “r…really..mama?...can ..I do this?...” Ara smiled, assuring her. “Yes my little world, now twirl….twirl however you want to …however you dream to” Ruby nodded excitedly and got up from her bed .. and then moved in a circle …feeling the wind, her arms opened by their own, She felt like she was floating like the fairies in her stories. Her little dream meant something, not to anyone but to her own self. She twirled , moved her feet …and slowly stopped … There was a big smile on her face. Ara felt tears welled up her eyes… “How was it?..” “It was …..great–no…awesome! ..thank you .Thank you so much, Mama!” Ruby spread her arms, hugging her mother tightly , Ara held her close and tight.. “Your welcome, my love …you deserve every happiness.”.. And from that day, Ruby danced, but for her happiness for her own good, Ara thought of letting her do this by herself so she didn’t disturb her. She let her do what she loved. ☆☆☆☆☆ Some days passed, and Ara at last was feeling the burden and pain from her shoulders slightly falling down…she was more relaxed nowadays, happier and more cheerful. Ara was sewing Ruby's dress, the thin needle working perfectly to make the embroidery on it. Suddenly, the door slammed open.. “ARA!!” ☆☆☆☆☆☆ “Like the seed which grows into a mighty tree, She rose like a sword in the ocean of blood… Her eyes were red, Her heart was blue. Where her heart lied, Wanting to fly like the scud winds do. She cried in grief, Awaiting for the life anew”
