I felt like a bad person knowing what Julie was going through but not being able to tell her. The last time I visited Mike, Julie begged me not to mention any of the things that happened to her, especially the fact that she was staying at Mike because she had nowhere else to go.
“Ace?” Aubrey’s calm voice reached out to me as I was lost in my thoughts. I tilted my head towards her, “Yes, Pear.”
“Can I ask you a question? You can choose not to answer.” She said. I already knew what she wanted to ask, I knew a day would come when she would ask and I sort of prepared myself for it.
