“What do you mean she is gone?” I growled, glaring at Mike and James who stood before me, guilt written all over their faces.
“She walked out and we haven’t been able to find her since,” Mike explained.
“It’s my fault boss, I was carried away, trying to find out who was behind the shooting and have them punished, I didn’t realize she was gone,” James muttered, taking sole responsibility, his guilt weighing on every word he muttered. This is the first time I have seen him so nervous.
