Mike had stayed by my side since that day. After he returned from whatever made his smile fade, he had been by my side, stuck like glue.
“Don’t you have a job to get to?” I grunted while arranging a few of my clothes that I had washed earlier that day.
Mike was sitting on my couch with his cell phone in his hands. He tilted his head to look at me and smiled, “This is one of the benefits of being friends with the CEO of a big company, I get work from wherever I want.”
I rolled my eyes, “I would have a job if you had not bought my old boss’s building.” I added, frowning at him.
