Chapter Seventy

Daisy’s POV Noah is checked over, and other than some bruising to his torso and face, the doctor says he is fine. He gives the younger man some strong painkillers and tells him to rest for a few days before releasing us. When we climb into the car, Noah driving this time after he triumphantly takes the keys out of my pocket, he tosses the pills into the back seat before starting the engine and driving us home. When we reach my father’s house, Noah slides out, ignoring the small bag of medication, shaking his head when I point to them, before ushering me into the house where he shows me just how fine he really is. For the next few days, things are pretty quiet, I wake up, go to work with Noah in tow, the jock sitting in the corner near to the kitchen each day with a slowly healing face,
