Before going down to breakfast, Wayde called the Re/Max real estate office in Hilton Head Island. He asked the receptionist to speak to Janice Mellon. A few seconds later, she picked up, and he asked her about Beverly Lange. She told him it was three months since she’d talked to Beverly and didn’t know where she was now. Wayde thanked her and clicked shut his cell phone.
He looked over at Tiny, sitting in a cushioned chair on the other side of the room. “One down and one to go—cross your fingers,” he said as he dialed the second number.
A receptionist answered, “VIP Realty.” He asked for Cheryl Bateman and is connected to her extension.
